I will start with this one. Must be some absolute gold out there that we have never seen before. This is superb. And frightening to think the level we were at and the stadiums we played at. I would have been at this game.
The challenges are something else.
And who is our set piece coach... some goal that first one!
Chris Lucketti - turned out to be a very good player, surprised we never signed him. But he was a bit raw on this

I was there on the tarmac car park.
It was a great time to be a Burnley fan, it was raucous in the away end.
Lucketti was excellent on the day and I was always surprised we never made a move for him.

The game at The Shay that stands out the most for me was when the fans - and I mean Burnley fans, there weren't many Halifax - cleared the pitch of snow so the game could go ahead. I seem to remember the ref giving us a really dodgy pen. Just reward.

My memory of that game is snowballs being thrown around the away end! Also there always seemed to be an edge at Halifax away a bit like Rochdale and Stockport.

i sometimes forget what an utter knob Dean Keily was in that game. Lucky to escape with all his teeth after grabbing John Deary like that!

I think the ref was mindful of the thousands of Burnley fans when he gave Deary a yellow card!

We took 8 thousand to Carlisle, for a League Two game in today's names.. wow.
Isn't that right on the border with Scotland?
I always knew we took almost 10k across to York through tales, but I never knew we'd taken 8k up to Carlisle.

Superb. Never seen it from that angle. Can see myself.
I’ve watched the goals of that game 100 times. More. But never realised it was THAT late.
We didn’t half make it hard work. But brilliant to see.

Watch John Deary after York score. Heads are down walking back for the kick off and you can see John saying ' it's only f****ng one'

Great footage that. Like you, I hadn't seen that before. Remember my dad got a smack in the face when that first goal went in. Completely accidental but caught by a stray arm jumping up to celebrate resulting in a bit of a shiner. Not sure my mum believed the explanation when we got home!! Great memories.

Chris Pearce was on fire that night! Probably his best performance in a Clarets shirt?

I’m not sure whether it’s lost youth or a lost football culture that makes me pine for days like that. Was a great day out, remember that Deary free kick like it was yesterday. I’m sure he scored with the same set piece against someone else that season.

Pearce was unreal that night (think he’d been sent off against Stockport Saturday before when Farrell had to go in goal). My memory of this night is another ridiculous away following with some Burnley fans having to be put in the kop opposite.

I have the EXACT Same nostalgic feeling when I watch these.
It was a different 'feeling'. Even just going to the game. The sights, smells, sounds. Anticipation - not knowing who was playing and tbh just the relatable nature of the 'heros' we watched. They lived among us!

Think he scored a similar free kick at Wigan away.

I just think society in general peaked 20 years ago. The 90's up to around mid 2000's were superb. I just find society in general a bit 'sadder' than it was then! Maybe my experience. There is plenty of joy out there. Dont get me wrong. I just find society today far more sanitized while at the same time narcistic. Neither of which in a good way!

A great night at Rochdale. Rubbing their faces in it as they needed to win to make the play offs. David Williams with the penalty save against the club he’d been on loan at earlier in the season for which he had a storming game against us, his parent club, on the Turf.

Superb watch this. Look at the away end, dearys reaction to a red and Mullens celebrations. Fantastic. You simply dont see raw, natural passion like this now.
That away end. Wow.
And John Bond undercover!
I didnt go to this game but went to the following one at Bramall lane!

Superb and so much to unpick with this one! The original tie nil nil and complete hatred for John Bond who bottled turning up (or did he). He made a churlish comment about most of the crowd being too young to know who he was.
The replay was an edgy night another brilliant following which wouldn’t happen these days rewarded with a late winner. The next round at Sheff Utd was pretty special.

Fantastic trip to Sheffield. Remember it being VERY cold.

The game at Sheffield should not have gone ahead. I suspect it would have been abandoned at half time but with us leading 0-2 that was not likely to happen.

And a huge away following! Met Jamie Hoyland on a night out in Rawtenstall who spoke about this game and said it should never have gone ahead and would have been abandoned if level.

Another memory of the Shrewsbury cup tie was at the turf a big banner being passed down the longside reading John Bond is a w@nker.
Also have a memory on the Granada Friday evening kick off programme he faced questions in the studio from Burnley fans.

Remember the cold. Was freezing. And the drive home was a bit hairy. I’ve cold and pitch black.
