Are there not limits now on that, prompted by Udinese & Watford?agreenwood wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 1:05 pmDon’t worry, a good half dozen will be off to Espanyol soon enough.
I think there is a maximum of 6 players can be loaned to international clubs but there are a lot of complex rules surrounding this...!ClaretTony wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 1:25 pmAre there not limits now on that, prompted by Udinese & Watford?
It was the Football League who tightened their rules in 2013. In the previous season, the first under Pozzo control, Watford had ten players on loan from Udinese.ClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 1:53 pmI think there is a maximum of 6 players can be loaned to international clubs but there are a lot of complex rules surrounding this...!
Other points on the thread, I doubt we have 15 players capable of playing in La Liga. As far as I am aware, Fifa have a market value rule so you can't just start selling players to related entities.
I don't know why we are carrying big debts and a huge squad. I can only assume that quite a number will be leaving this summer or we just can't sell them whether because no one wants them or because the players can't get equivalent contracts elsewhere and don't want to leave.
Who knows. I can't fathom ALKs strategy to be honest but plenty on here seem to be able to so I'll let them answer the question.
The 39 quoted from Transfermarket are here plus Zeki Amdouini, which is 40. Possibly, a couple of youth players included. Not entirely sure it is correctBigGaz wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 2:19 pmI'm not even sure it's right tbh, looks like the graphic was before contract expiry.
Beware using Wikipedia as your source of truth but our squad is now 36 with the departure of Hound Dog. I presume CJER and JB were the others, don't feel like we've lost anyone else though I could be mistaken.
Massengo
Ekdal
Benson
Sambo
Churlinov
Amdouni
Delcroix
Dodgson
One of the Keepers that isn't Weiss
Seem to be viable options to leave permanently which would bring the squad down to a manageable 27.
Then you would imagine
Sonne
Agyei
Banel
Beyer
Perhaps Ramsey
We'd be acquiescent to leave on loan.
Can remove Sarmiento from that listClaretPete001 wrote: ↑Tue Jul 08, 2025 2:42 pmThe 39 quoted from Transfermarket are here plus Zeki Amdouini, which is 40. Possibly, a couple of youth players included. Not entirely sure it is correct
