Yes he’s back with us - there have been pictures of him training.

Parker said we’d come through today unscathed.

I know Amdouni didn’t feature but it’d be a strange thing to say otherwise.

It's a strange rumour to fly about unfounded though. Who would bother to make that up

Seems to be a theme over the last few years that the club don’t seem to report injuries at all.

Still to this day I don’t think anyone is actually sure as to why Redmond was out for so long

We won’t go down that road eh, but yes they didn’t give any information out. The amount of injuries JBG and Brady had over the years and all we got were ‘they are back on the grass’

Amdouni has been the Besiktas fans’ obsession all summer after it came out that his family were supporters. Since then they’ve been speculating that he could join them without any real substance, in the way only Turkish fans seem to be able to do.

This story could be another exaggeration or lie, but it’d be odd even by Turkish media standards.

People are literally down at the drop of a hat. If you source players without proper checks that's what you are left with.

What do you mean source players without proper checks? Injuries happen, they can pass every check in the world and then suddenly get a freak injury

The frequency of the rapid signings & the amount of injuries picked up. It seriously isn't normal if you think so many unexpected injuries should be taking place it's pointless debating it.

Amdouni has been here for two seasons (albeit a season elsewhere).

Do we get more injuries than other clubs?

Jakub there’s plenty of things regarding the club and recruitment you could complain about but players getting injured does seem a massive reach. These things happen.

Our record of players getting knee injuries goes back years, not just modern day

I certainly don't think we get more injuries than other clubs. It's just we seem to have a bigger squad than most!

I also see no evidence that we don't do proper background checks before signing players.

Terrible blow, best wishes to Zeki. One of our best players potentially. No doubts it lowers our chances, either from impact or from reinvesting sale proceeds.

I just hope that the “serious” injury is a month or two not a year or two.

Of course injuries happen it's part & parcel of football. I believe in the purpose of saving money proper checks don't take place which actually ends up costing more money in the long run.

World Cup for him at the end of this season, hopefully the injury won't be a very really long one.

Good luck to Zeki in recovery

Shame to see this. Possibly another reason we’ve moved quickly to sign Larsen. At least it’s the one area of the pitch we are stacked.

We do seem to have some rough luck with injuries. At any one time over the last few seasons it’s felt like we’ve had 2-3 long term injuries to content with. Not sure how that compares to other clubs.

Every club has injuries and the longer the season gets and the less Summer recovery they get it will only get worse.

Are you seriously suggesting that the club try and save circa 1 weeks wages on a player by not carrying out a medical?

There is not a cat in hell's chance that either the insurer or the investor will stump up money without proper due diligence being carried out.

They aren't umming and ahing over whether to get a side of garlic bread with a takeaway here, it's millions of pounds at stake, so a thorough risk assessment and investment report will take place.

It was more aimed towards research on susceptibility. It might be a novel idea to some but more focused on actually avoiding problems instead of dealing with them.

If that's the case it's baffling why we get so many serious injuries. I'm well aware injuries are commonplace in football to a certain degree.

I've got an idea. you could save the club money and do these "susceptibility checks" for the club.
I've done Amdouni's and it took all of 2 minutes.
21 games missed since and including 2019-20 season through injury or illness.

Yeah, by Jakub's theory Bayern should never have bothered with Musiala coz when an opponent goalkeeper slides in then his ankle & legs are weak, and susceptible to being dislocated & broken!!
