Never heard anyone have a bad word for AW. What a player he was for us, nice to see the respect and love we have for him is returned.

What a player he was for us.

It always irked me a bit that he got a bit of stick near the end of is time with us, for playing the long channel ball way too often. The fact he was clearly under instructions to do this seemed to pass the critics by.

Simple, an exchange based on respect, but a magical moment. The nice side of football.

One of SD's best signings and a top bloke as well. Glad he's doing well in the States.

I think most accepted it was under instruction but it became a ball he played without thought and probably showed a lack of confidence. You've got to use it at the right times, and know when to keep the ball but he resorted to just putting it over the opposition far too often in that last season.

If we'd have settled on a Cork/Brownhill midfield I think there's a very good chance we'd have stayed up.
