Good morning, ladies and gents.
We’re very grateful to the ‘From the Bee Hole End’ team and particularly to Andrew Greaves, for inviting us onto the show to speak a little more about the Association.
We hope that by being as public as possible, people are able to build a picture of what we are, what we stand for and how we differ from all the other excellent groups, boards and trusts.
Please take a few minutes to have a listen and feel free to raise any points of interest. We next meet as a steering group on Monday.
Hopefully, if you’ve been considering joining us, you might now do so.
Thank you!

We have been working on getting our own ducks in order behind the scenes. A lot of volunteering hours has had to go into establishing the group, developing the values, vision, constitution etc, and our recent priority has been engaging with Barry Kilby and other people associated with the club as well as on membership. We are growing our membership at a very pleasing rate and we want to go into in any engagement process as an association that knows what it’s talking about and one that will be taken seriously.
The club have acknowledged us and have said they’re open to engaging with us and we see this as a positive.
Your question is already on the agenda for Monday’s meeting, as we feel like we’re now in a position where we, as a very newly established group, can engage in a two-way dialogue.

I listened to the excellent From the Bee Hole End podcast today and found the guys from BFCISA to be engaging and articulate. In these times where fans, especially match going fans, are being marginalised right across elite football it’s great to have an association that looks out for the interests of everyone who has an interest in BFC and general football matters.

Think something high on the agenda would be to get some sort of idea of the logic / rationale behind allocations we take for away games.....

There was an interesting Price of Football podcast on a related theme featuring the fan Co-chair of West Ham’s FAB. It sounds like their FAB operates very differently to ours and they have forced through a lot more power and sway.
I’d suggest the ISA look at how it might be able to begin to do something similar. Our FAB appears to be largely a bunch of nodding dogs hand-picked by the club, partially at least based on social media prominence.
We need to move to a place where the FAB and supporters groups are working together and I’d go as far as to say that the supporters groups (maybe even the ISA) should be selecting at least half of the FAB to represent us. If the club are unwilling to allow fan groups some say in who represents them, we shouldn’t recognise the FAB at all.
Appreciate it’s early days for the ISA, but that’s where it should be headed in my view.
