Presumably this is the next round of County matches being played with the Kookaburra ball where huge batting totals don’t count for much. Middlesex scored over 600 before declaring. The problem being that the opposition then goes on to occupy the crease and put on a big total.

But think of the experience all the county trundlers have gained from them in preparation for bringing home The Ashes.kentonclaret wrote: ↑Wed Jul 23, 2025 5:39 pmPresumably this is the next round of County matches being played with the Kookaburra ball where huge batting totals don’t count for much. Up to 4th in the table, behind the 2nd and 3rd placed teams because of our lack of bonus points. 2W, 2L, 6D now for the season.

Four games left, two of which are against Glamorgan. Stranger things have happened, but if we pull this one off after the start we made, then it will be remarkable.

Re: Gloucester v Lancs
Great win. I managed to get to Cheltenham on Wednesday and it was a great day out. Lovely place to watch cricket. I read in the programme that we hadn't beaten Gloucestershire in a County Championship match since 1961! That's quite some stat. So a long overdue win!
