Rishabh Pant injured again is he going to sit in the dressing room till he’s needed to bat or is his injury genuine this time. I haven’t seen his.
“Injury” yet so it’s just scepticism creeping in. Also hope the umpires in this test show more backbone than in the last test but i think not because today one of the Indian openers had a 4min drinks brea'k then left the field for a “comfort “break talk about taking the p*** !

Pant’s foot injury is apparently very serious and he is not expected to play any further part in the game and even in the final test.
Apparently India will be able to have their better wicket keeper behind the stumps which is allowed subject to the approval of the 2 umpires

Took one on the side of his foot......looked to be swelling up.
Genuine injury i reckon.

Looked genuine to me. You could see the blood coming through his sock before the physio took it off and you could see the swelling. Sometimes these are something and nothing but Pant was clearly in considerable pain.

On the subject of him sitting in the dressing room until he was needed to bat in the last test, didn't Bashir sit in the dressing room until he was needed to bowl. I do think those rules need to be looked at to be honest but both were permitted.

I said same thing earlier about Bashir, he literally only came on to bowl his overs, and the sub fielder took the catch to dismiss Bumrah. Not overly different, and both within the rules as it stands.

He was obviously in great pain and you could see both the blood and swelling on his foot. Mind you it was self-inflicted to a high degree by virtue of the ridiculous shot he tried to play !
But that’s all part of what makes him a brilliantly entertaining cricketer to watch.

If you “haven’t seen” the injury then why on earth would you open a thread about it
I enjoy watching all aspects of Pant’s game and the series will be poorer for his absence.

Big loss for India. With how close the games have been so far could easily end up being the difference in this Test.

Very much poorer. Cricket needs players like Pant.

It will be a shame if Pant is out for the rest of the series, he's Box Office.

SSN reporting a fractured metatarsal and he's been advised it needs resting for 6 weeks. End of series if so.

And that break is needed. We've had players at Burnley, Andy Gray was one notably, who have suffered such an injury and it's one that seems to take some time to recover from. What a shame if it is a fractured metatarsal.

Theres no stopping the man. A warrior. Great to see him batting, but hopefully, it doesn't make the injury worse.

Fair play reaching his 50 with no foot movement.
