His name roughly translates from Danish to “Magnetic Head”, so that bodes well.

Makes me feel old just how much the game I grew up with has changed. Not so much that the club hire a set piece coach so much as the fact this one must have decided he was going to work on being a professional football coach at about 12.

And at least we’ve announced him. Still no acknowledgment of the goalkeeper coach who came in last summer.

How did we ever manage without a Set Piece Coach?

Just give Zian the free-kicks.

Might be my memory playing tricks but I'm sure I remember back in the day that the likes of Collins, Casper, Dobson and Waldron were left to their own devices when it came to set pieces.
It's fair to say they were quite inventive at times.

Won’t be long before he’s the ‘much maligned’ set piece coach.

Wish him well. We have to improve significantly on goals scored from set pieces this year so there’s a lot resting on this chap.

Jimmy Adamson and Sean Dyche pulling double duty?

Excuse my ignorance but does a set piece coach also get involved with defending set pieces?
Or is that a defence coach's job?

The interviewer is on script .... First question - "How excited are you ...." Don't the club give these pretenders any training at all?

I was at the Charity Shield game at City in 1973 and I thought they'd faked a misunderstanding before this free kick but it's hard to tell off this clip.

The club needs to put out a video explaining the "excitement scale", so that all future interview responses can be properly understood.

If we don’t score from on of our first five corners this season there will genuinely be some ‘supporters’ making comments.

Surely a set piece coach is just implementing in training what the manager and senior coaching and defensive coaches require from set pieces. He will have input on ideas , but I would expect he just leads the repetitive training of the players regarding set pieces.
I can’t believe VK and Parker would delegate something so important.
