Unearthing a diamond

Just reading about PNE bidding £3m for Richard Kone, unfortunately for them Swansea have apparently bid £4.5m but Wycombe are holding out for £5m.
Is it worth taking a gamble at that price on him or is he overhyped?

He'd be ideal for someone to sign and loan out to a Championship to see how he develops.
The problem is we don't have excess cash floating around really, we need to spend it on players good enough for the right now.
If we were in a different position he's deffo one I'd take a punt on.

I've seen him a couple of times "live", he's good but a bit short of Premier League standard.
£5M would be the ceiling price in my view.

He had a decent season last year. Wouldn’t say it was particularly amazing.
For comparison Scott Twine had more goals and assists for Mk dons that season before we signed him and he turned about to be low end championship standard.
I suspect that’s probably Kones level as well.

Looks like they changed their middle name to Kash! That might help!

Which was perhaps why we offloaded him

Looks like Rangers unearthed one from beleaguered Sheffield Weds.
Gassama cost them less than 2 million and has played in 3 European games scoring 4 goals. Two tonight on here.

Can’t remember which poster it was, but someone on this board was raving about him last year

On one-off performances, thought Sheff Weds last season were the best team to come to the Turf; they played us off the park 1st half, but, as we so often did, we ground out a result.

Wasn’t it 4-0 ? That’s a hell of a grinding !!
You’re right about the first half though.
