We know what Spurs and Manchester United are charging us this coming season but I was wondering what we would be charging. While coming in much, much better than United, we are worse than Spurs.

Spurs are charging us

£30 – Adults
£25 – Over 66s & Under 22s
£18 – Under 18s

Man U are charging us

£30 – Adults
£29 – Over 66s & Under 21s

We are charging Sunderland

£30 - Adults
£27 - Over 65s
£25 - Under 21s
£20 - Under 18s

But Spurs get income from 70,000, so can afford to charge a bit less.

Personally think theyre pretty good, cant see many clubs complaining about that to be honest.

You could argue its a lot of money for an 8 year olds ticket, but I doubt there will many under 16s there with it being so difficult to get the required points for tickets etc They probably only get a handful of opportunities a season.

The pattern of upping concession prices though is quite worrying.

Our last three visits to Man U the prices for seniors have been
2021/22 - £15
2023/24 - £25
2025/26 - £29

Think it was Ipswich I read that had priced some away tickets for adults at £43 for an upcoming game

Won’t be long before there are no concessions, just a fixed price for a seat.

Currently sat on a 5 hour train into Italy and I’m losing count in the last 2 weeks in central Europe of the times kids have been charged full adult rates, for all kind of things. A couple of things were full price over 2 years old. It’s a creeping problem all over Europe.

I think the most in the Championship last season was at Sheff Wed who charged £45 for one game, not sure whether it was when they played Leeds or Sheff U.

NGL given the price of the cheapest Season Ticket at the Turf, for Premier League football, on interest free direct debit, i'm not sure what else the club can do? If someone can't afford that, i suspect going to the match would be the least of their problems.

It's right across the board. One poster seemed to think I was having a go at our club, but this poster always seems to target me in any case. The £30 cap for adults is rightly to continue for the next three years in the Premier League but the constant increase in concessions is shocking and some clubs, including ours, have hit their own concession fans with big increases. I'm banging this drum across the Premier League fans network I'm involved with through the FSA and will continue to bang it, as I can confirm fans from other clubs are doing.

I agree with everything you said till the last point. 2 adults and 2 kids for example to go to the Burnley matches on direct debit wont just be a massive chunk out of poorer earners ... it would be felt in the middle class too.

I know we are cheap compared but football in general has become too expensive, even people that have money in the bank and not loving hand to mouth

STs aren't a big problem as such. Matchday tickets are far too expensive.

It’s too broad a subject to cover properly, but i bump into plenty of Burnley fans at local cricket and football matches that have given up going because of the cost.

The increase in the prices of concessions being made by a number of clubs including ours is just taking the p-iss out of supporters. It’s very much against the spirit of the reason why a cap of £30 was put on away tickets.

The big increase in walk on ticket prices and season tickets too with again the eroding of concessions is just following on from the greed being displayed by most clubs in the Premier League and the Championship too.

TV money for being in the PL shows little sign of stagnating and with prize money in the championship league also going up and new lucrative competitions like the club World Cup bringing even more revenue to some clubs (and the big increases in hospitality revenues) you would think that the income from “ordinary” supporters would be a smaller and smaller proportion of overall revenues of most clubs. This would seem a good reason to treat these supporters pretty reasonably with clubs not as reliant on this income as previously. But instead most clubs are hitting their fans with big increases year on year.

I think we have been relatively fortunate at Burnley compared to what I have seen at some other clubs but the last 2 or 3 years we have seen some not insignificant increases ourselves (especially in the concessions) and when you add the very steep increases we have seen in the cost of food and drink it is definitely becoming more of a struggle for a lot of individuals and families to afford to come to games.

Football is expensive now. That's inarguable. Most clubs are in a no-win situation though. They need all the money they can get to try and stay afloat at whatever level they play at. Even non-league prices aren't cheap these days because of the need to cover the basic running costs of the clubs.

At higher levels the money all just passes through to the players and clubs operate at a loss through their basic day to day operations and hope that they can recover that through player trading.

Grounds are mostly full though, so while it's a shame for the many who can't afford to go the clubs aren't really in any position to make it cheaper.

I just think it's wrong for people to be trying to silence someone who is sticking up for our supporters and keeping it affordable for as many as possible.

The whole football experience has gone up a lot really.

Not just the price of a ticket. Season ticket prices are stable enough but have gone up a lot in the last 3 years in comparison.

It's the walk on's if you want to sit behind the goals at the bottom are still reasonable too at £15 for a kid and £30 for an adult but anywhere else has increased a lot ....

I think the price also increases when playing the bigger teams

But having a pint and a pie and everything that goes with the match-day experiences has gone up a lot and if you want to sit in a better area... its 50% up on 3-4 season ago give or take...

Is anyone really trying to silence anyone? Some things are expensive and with a limited amount of "fun money" choices have to be made. I think there is a limit to what the club can do, although the increase for pensioners tickets did stick out at recent ST releases.

We charge market rate for walk ons, and probably below market rate for season tickets.

It probably is relatively expensive, and if people can't afford it, that is sad, it is, but there really is a point where you have to acknowledge that there will be a certain price point, and if you can't afford it, you don't go.

The away fan cap, imo, is an acknowledgement that away fans are essential to the atmosphere, and therefore the "product" they are selling via TV worldwide. It isn't out of the goodness of their heart.

Where do you think the money goes? Prices are higher because costs are higher. Players cost exponentially more at this level. If you think we can get away with marketing the club as a league one outfit while playing in the Premier League you're in fantasy land.

I'd love an arrangement where the authorities placed a sensible cap on ticket prices and player salaries / transfer fees / agent fees reduced accordingly. If anyone can find a way of making that happen I'll be fully supportive.

2 adult and 2 child season tickets in the Cricket Field Stand costs my son £88.66 per month. The travel from Northampton up to Burnley to watch a game costs more than that by the time they have eaten and had a pre-match drink!

The PL and tv companies constantly spoke about the need for away fans at games yet clubs were charging them the earth; we had to pay £50 for adult tickets at Chelsea in 2015.

The FSA launched their Twenty’s Plenty campaign and that pressure forced them to at least reduce it to £30. There were some clubs charged a bit less for a while but I’m not sure anyone charges less than £30 now for an adult tickets

There really has to be some pressure applied now on concession pricing.
