ANOTHER town derby on Saturday with league leaders and champions elect Lowerhouse vs reigning Champions Burnley.

If you’re on the Lazio game, Burnley 2nds are at home with both bars open and everyone welcome as usual!

On Sunday, it’s the 99th Worsley Cup final at Turf Moor vs Ramsbottom.

Serrano’s pizza, Ground-up burgers, ice cream and sweets, plenty of bars, live music, mascot racing and face painting… and loads more.

Enjoy your cricket 🏏

Was it Read last week for the first time in years for a junior game and really liked the place.

Enjoy hosting the final if you’re from the club, great venue for it!

Lowerhouse name one change to their side for Saturday - Frankie replaces Keagan.

House seconds look to continue their amazing form away at Crompton

Good luck to Burnley in the final on Sunday.

Hopefully a thrashing Saturday doesn't put them off.

Might pop down Sunday if can get in.

Quite a few from Padiham are making the short trip over.

Should be a great final, two good teams and a great venue to watch.

TBF, they get a lot more on these days, there was a good mix in the Semi Final, certainly no less than most other grounds I go to.

If they are at their best I think Burnley beat Rammy with being at home but you just never know in a cup final, its a brilliant day out and always a rough Monday at work. Hopefully its a close game, I'd imagine Rammy will be in good voice with their Green and Yellow flares going off at some point.

Im not sure you can judge a clubs typical crowd by a semi final, ngl

Burnley must be gutted with that, theirs to win and threw it away with lots of poor fielding and bowling.

Could probably do with a year in the second division to get back to the right standard to compete

If anyone knows whether Colne have won, I'd be grateful. I was watching the end bit on the telly, and it said Crompton needed 226 off 46 overs, and they shook hands and came off when Crompton reached 214/9 off 45. Anyone there who can explain?

Burnley Beaten, Bragging Rights Stay in Blue & Yellow

Second Eleven

The Second Eleven maintained their fantastic run away at Crompton, bringing home the maximum 12 points.

Batting first, they posted an impressive 267 for 6 from their 45 overs. Dec Metcalfe led the way with a sublime century, scoring 105 from 129 balls, ably supported by Shaukat Ali who smashed 76 from 70 deliveries.

In reply, Crompton were dismissed for 121 in just 22.4 overs. Shaukat Ali capped off his all-round performance with figures of 5 for 17 from 5.4 overs, while Jax Edwards claimed 4 for 23 from 4 overs. Crompton collapsed dramatically from 96-1 to 121 all out.

The Second Eleven remain 34 points clear at the top of the league.

First Eleven

It was derby day at home for the First Eleven as they took on Burnley. The visitors won the toss and made 183 for 8, with wickets shared among the bowlers.

In reply, Jonny Whitehead anchored the early stages with 55 before Tom Walker took over as the backbone of the innings. Walker brought up his half-century from 78 balls, supported by Toxy Hussain, Charlie Cottam, and Joey Hawke.

Lowerhouse lost wickets at regular intervals, but calm and composed batting saw them home with 11 balls to spare, sealing a 10-point win. Walker finished unbeaten on 54 from 90 balls in a sensible, match-winning knock—another example of the teamwork that has defined this season.

Lowerhouse are now 42 points clear at the top of the table, with five games to play—and another derby win in the bag.

I get why you say it :D

To be fair I thought Burnley batted ok and posted a decent score. Their bowling was average at best. Not sure what the crack is with Ocky. Took them a while to bowl him then he bowied reasonably OK. He was taken off for Bharat to bowl his last 2 then brought back on. Just odd. Meanwhile once Fergus had bowied the pacers were brought back at the shorter end which only helped us whack the runs off.
Poor captaincy for me lost that for Burnley...and our long tail

Chasing isn’t our strong point but it clearly wasn’t a ‘go out and smash it’ wicket. I thought 220 was a good score on that.

I wouldn’t really class our line up as a tail, it’s simply not. Joe Martin has a ton to his name. 9, 10 and Jack have won us games up and down the order.

It’s the teamwork that has got us where we are this year. Like o said in a thread last week, we were the team with the lowest 50s. This is only the second team we haven’t bowled out this year. Mental.

The result still hadn't been added to the Lancashire League website a few minutes ago when I was looking, so not sure what's gone on. It was the only one missing.

I didn’t mean sat in-front of a computer. I meant going to watch the team you supposedly support. Which you clearly haven’t in years.
