One year deal… smart move I think. Only concern is he hasn’t played a full season in quite a while. But filled in for Pope really well last season. Brings more PL experience to the spine and defence.

We’ve signed Martin Dubravka.
Solid signing this. UTC

Experienced, better with his feet than Trafford and ultimately won’t let us down. A smart signing. But very short term…

I wouldn't have wanted any longer, we've already signed the long term keeper, who now has a season to develop

My son is a season ticket holder at St James' (He's a Claret, but goes with his mates).
He is delighted with Dubravka. He speaks really highly of him.
I wasn't sure, but I absolutely trust him, so happy days.

I think a keeper brought in with medium term thinking wouldn’t have been a bad thing. It’s all very much reliant on Weiss kicking on. If he doesn’t, it will have to be addressed again in 12 months time.

I wouldn't worry. There's plenty of good keepers around. This approach has hopefully enabled us to strengthen in other crucial areas.

Solid signing for a season, I suppose. We definitely needed a legitimate #1.
I don't know why but I just don't share everyone else's delight. For some reason, I didn't fancy him at all. I saw him as a bit lightweight, at times, in the limited amount I saw him last 5 or 6 years.
Glad to be wrong.

They were always pretty crap. Amusingly they've made a rod for their own back because they are sort of expected now. In fact I'd be pretty sure that Alan Pace wouldn't let them get away with not doing them.
Surely it at some point they'll have to knock it on the head though

I must admit, this is kind of where I'm at. I think they were better, younger options out there, and we're exposed if he picks up an injury - saw on NUFC forums that he has had an underlying shoulder issue for a while, but I'm unsure of the extent of it and clearly no issues with medical etc.

And the imagination and effort that goes into the reveal videos is excellent.
Well done.

Why? They bring high viewing numbers, likes, engagaement, etc. on X so people from around the world expect it. It's the best thing the media team have done in growing the profile on there, mainly due to these vids. We've discussed the interview stuff to death, but this is one aspect where they've excelled, and continue to do so. Much better than some graphic with a smiling photo!

Lets go back to players holding scarves up above their heads when being announced shall we?
We live in a digital age where social media is a major part of people's lives and this is a great way of not only engaging with followers but also exposing Burnley FC to a wider audience.
Well played to BFC. Keep them coming.

I'm sure there were young and better options out there but we haven't got a bottomless pit. We still had Ugochukwu, Broja and all the rest to pay for. This is a smart, cheap signing which has allowed us to spend in other areas.

Pleased to have an established and experienced number one. He’s been one of the top keepers and I’m hopeful he will be a solid last line next season.
The announcement videos are not to everyone’s taste, but there is absolutely no denying they are attracting a lot of attention for the club and reading the comments from fans of other clubs are certainly reaching an audience far and wide. Therefore they achieve their intention. They are making people follow Burnley who otherwise wouldn’t and raising the clubs profile. A sideshow but incremental in changing people’s attitude to the club.

Surely the point of signing Dubravka is to provide a short term fix who is reliable and hasn’t cost the earth, enabling us to spend money elsewhere.
As for the criticism over the video, it just goes to show how difficult some people are to please.
I can’t think of anything to criticise how things are at our club at the moment.

Really good signing in my opinion and a one year deal keeps him keen as I am sure we will retain him if he performs. Age doesn't bother me with keepers particularly - look how well the likes of Brad Friedel, Edwin Van Der Sar and many others performed past 35.

Good solid experienced signing. These video uploads to social media are here to stay. Whether you personally like them or not thousands do like them and it increases our world wide exposure massively. The media team and the board deserve praise for this aspect of BFC. Some aspects of the club don’t need modernising but this did and we do it well.

We’ve signed the goalkeeper this window who we believe will be our long term replacement for James Trafford but because of his young age and inexperience is probably not ready.
So we bring in an experienced international goalkeeper with plenty of Premier League experience on a short term deal.
I can’t see what’s not to like about this one. Really good signing for me.

Dubravka is a really good keeper and he's well thought of at Newcastle.
If there's a downside to his game it's probably that he's not a big dominant keeper in the air, but I'm really happy with him.

36 falls within the window of 'prime' for many goalkeepers.

Solid signing. There were a couple of options I’d have preferred but can’t complain too much.
One would assume that would spell the end for Hladky at the club and Weiss will be the understudy.

You can’t see much happening incoming wise once Broja is confirmed. But a lot to go yet if we can find clubs for them.

Try not to be too sensible and rational it doesn’t fit well with a number of our fanbase.
Not heard a bad word from a Geordie and my season ticket holding mate has him better than pope with feet but just ever so slightly behind him in **** stopping (though not much in it) and said they never felt worried or like they lost anything when he had to step in.
