May be wrong but I think this was before 58/59 unless there were big changes for the Championship win season as there’s no Pointer ,Elder ,Miller ,Robson or Connelly in the picture.

I believe Albert Cheesebrough (front row) was much sought after by United after the Munich air disaster.

You are correct.

Of that team, Alan Shackleton was the first depart. He played three games for us in 1958/59 and none of them match with that team.

The team on the picture was the one that lined up for a number of games during the 1957/58 season.

The 59-60 team looks accurate to me as Elder didnt sign for us until Jan 1959 and Miller Robson Connelly and Pointer are named and in the pic. The one missing is John angus

What pic are you looking at mdd2 - None of Miller, Robson, Connelly or Pointer are in the pic.

If this is say 57-58 season then why is there no Cheeseborough, McDonald, Winton Shannon, Newlands and Shackleton who all played, some a lot of games in 58-59 season
