Don't worry, it's not happening, not yet at least.

Are they purposely trying to ruin the game?
It makes you wonder.

I can understand if there was a check on corners but only if a goal had been scored as a result of one, but not every corner.
Likewise a check when it's a second yellow wouldn't be unfair, but not for every yellow.

What happens if a 2nd yellow is correct, but the 1st yellow was incorrect? Should VAR go back and rescind the 1st? And how do you account for the player potentially playing differently for the time period they were on a yellow? It's a minefield

Minefield/simple. VAR will find a way to **** it up. Death, taxes and VAR confusion.

Are they only going to use VAR if a corner is awarded? What about if it should have been a corner but not given? If they are doing corners, why not throw ins?
If they are going to bring in VAR for corners & yellows then maybe these should be done on a “Captains appeal” basis similar to in cricket
Each team has a number of reviews and if successful keeps it if not they lose it

Would they not have looked at the first yellow card at the time though?

Football is becoming, and not even slowly, unwatchable, unrecognisable!!

So just reading between the lines, nobody is bothered whether we get the correct decision or not?
Also the last time I decided that I'd give something a miss that annoyed me or I found wasn't to my liking (e.g Love Island) there was absolutely no repercushions, no Police at the door, nothing, infact it made my life better in many ways.

I think they mean the ‘fans’ who never step foot in a stadium and watch from their front rooms.

The argument I was addressing was that only a 2nd yellow was looked at

They don't mean that - I was in a meeting with PGMO yesterday evening about the rule changes for this season.

If they are heading down this path, they would be better taking the card decision off the on field ref completely imo. Let the ref make a decision on a free kick as normal then have the VAR who is watching instruct him if its a yellow or red or nothing. They could be on it straight away and if it is only a yellow play could continue if they really can’t decide quick enough and then the yellow be awarded when decision made.
Better still get rid of the whole b@@@@@@s completely.

Worth noting that Webb has said it might happen in the future - not that it is being implemented

Would it not make more sense if ref was to give a yellow and it’s up for review. For Var to look and if clearly not a yellow inform ref who can rescind it?
