Rovers fans outnumbered?

Birmingham City are taking 7k away fans to Ewood park today.

I remember going to Bury and Burnley fans taking over 3 sides of the ground. Have rovers slumped to Bury levels of support?

Will Birmingham outnumber Blackburn today? I can’t see Rovers bringing more than 7,000 fans. It might be their first home game of the season, but back to back defeats have surely ended any delusions for anything but a long, grim relegation scrap

They've sold 8,700 season tickets so don't think they'll be outnumbered.

Probably be 18/ 19k on given the 7k away support. It must be horrible having such a noisy large away support but it's something that lot are used to. That's what happens when your former owner builds a stadium that is far too big and the current owners need to rake in as much revenue as possible.

Reap what you sow bturds.

8,700 season tickets sold isn't bad.

The gate will show those as being in attendance, but there’s every chance only 5k go thru the gates. Modern day attendance figures are nonsense.

When did Burnley take over 3 sides of Gigg Lane?

I remember 2 sides at Walsall circa 96/97, but I don't remember it at Bury

Can recall both ends and part of main stand on Boxing Day. Possibly biggest following to Bury was in the FA Cup with 1000s in the Manchester Road End.

Rochdale , think we were supposed to having 3 sides of the ground however we didn’t have the Sandy Lane end, think that was 1991.

My father in law tells a story of going Barnet midweek and Burnley fans taking over most of the ground.

Not known him to tell porky pies.

Yes it's true, I was there, 1st time we played them. Huge support for a night game in London, although the official attendance was obviously nowhere near, there were possibly 2 to 3 thousand Burnley fans there.
We got talking to some spurs fans after the match, who had been on, and they were very impressed with our following

So called after the final game in 73s promotion. Not certain how much of the ground we had, but it was packed and far more Clarets than Nobs.

We certainly had a big following , recall been crammed into a terrace along the side of the pitch. I would say it was over capacity.

After the game it was the difficult to exit that led to a crush and with the sway of the crowd you had no control over where you went. It wasn't pleasant, a fence was ripped down to reduce the crush. What happened next was shocking. A Met Police horse made its way through the crowd making situation even worse.

Yeah bit of an anticlimax that Boxing day game, especially after Davis got sent off for that superb one handed save

Remember the FA Cup game at Gigg Lane , attendance was around 18K and we must have well over half of the crowd , we were poor and lost 1-0

Just pointed out to my friend who supports Birmingham that:

a) I will delete him from my FB friends if his team loses;

b) BR don't give us the whole Darwen End. It's true it makes no sense.

I was there. Somewhere between 15,000 and 18,000. Totally took the big home end, and we had most of both sides.

I was there. I'd say we had 10,000, at least.

Must have been pandemonium in the Brum end, Rovers collapse in last few minutes.
Lose 1-2

Disappointed with our result; delighted with Bburn's. I must watch the highlights.

Those were the days when Barnet were owned by Stan Flashman, the UK's most prominent " Ticket Tout ", who claimed he could obtain people tickets for everything from the F.A.Cup final to Buckingham Palace Garden parties ! Barry Fry was the Manager, so it was a marriage made in Heaven !

The game was a 4th Division game in our 1991-92 Championship season, a 0-0 draw, played on 24th March 1992, when games were still " cash on the gate " ... apparently when the attendance was announced as " 4,881 ", when it was obvious that the ground ( Official Capacity c.5,650 ), was bursting at the seams, the Metropolitan Police Officers present, just burst out laughing ..

Flashman died on 21st December 1999, aged just 59, having suffered from "Early on-set Alzheimer's " disease ....

Can’t see them doing anything like this for us

For a start they wouldn’t allow 7000 of us to attend

The artwork looks more like a BCFC job, than something produced by Rovers.
But as it is a ‘welcome’ sign, you’d assume it’s from the home team.
Strange.

Great gesture from Rovers. Even better gesture that they gifted Birmingham the win in the 98th minute.
