Jaidon Anthony
Jaidon Anthony
Just wanted to post a thread about Anthony, he took a lot of criticism in the early days under Parker and he could still do with improving his end product- but he's becoming a bit of a favourite of mine, I think he's a bit of an unsung hero.
He seems to be involved in most of our good play, he deserved an assist yesterday for the sublime touch and pass to Hannibal- he works hard- there's just a lot to like. People crying out for Edwards and I understand why but Anthony is one of the first names on the team sheet for me at the moment.

Agree. Work rate, desire, great attitude, combined with improving technical play.

Would be a better right wing back than Sonne.

Re: Jaidon Anthony
He showed huge effort yesterday, and talking to fans at the game-we "dont mind losing when everyone is giving their all".Think he will go on improvingboyyanno wrote: ↑Sun Aug 17, 2025 12:22 pmJust wanted to post a thread about Anthony, he took a lot of criticism in the early days under Parker and he could still do with improving his end product- but he's becoming a bit of a favourite of mine, I think he's a bit of an unsung hero.

Re: Jaidon Anthony
A good shout. I think when Broja is fit I would consider Anthony there in a back five and move Foster wide and Tchaoauna to the other wing
That gives us more directness and speed/physicality, something we lacked yesterday
Re: Jaidon Anthony
So much better from left. He's a bit Arfield esque in the way he picks up space drifting inside.

Re: Jaidon Anthony
Really grown on me.
Wonderful attitude. 100% effort. Sublime touch - which was on display again v Spurs.

Re: Jaidon Anthony
Agree and Anthony deserves a chance. Also plausible he could do a RWB job.
But reading what fans of other clubs are saying, the overwhelming opinion is that Parker doesn’t know what he is doing and has to play Edwards. Although harsh from those people the jury at this level remains undecided and Scott has to prove otherwise. Our fortunes didn’t really change much when we did or didn't start Anthony last season - they did with Edwards and so far, are doing again.
As regards Anthony I just feel that without Edwards distracting them on the other side, Anthony is easier to mark, and his goal and assist output will only be 3-4 each, and that won’t be enough to save us. Hannibal, after all, opponents don’t need to worry too much about, lets be brutally honest.

I was impressed by him yesterday
And my thought was that he’s one that can make the step up

Is a technically proficient player. And intelligent.
Plenty of Prem appearances already.
Will do well. An asset for BFC.

Re: Jaidon Anthony
I'd play 5-3-1-1 with Anthony as the left wing back.
Re: Jaidon Anthony
I meant if Anthony was to be in the side. I'd like to see us with three centre halves and three centre mids which unfortunately means we won't be able to play with wingers as much as we'd all perhaps like. Hartman does look good yeah.
