Often thought to be the character Terry in Waterloo Sunset. Julie being Julie Christie, though this has been denied by Ray Davies.

If I had a fiver for the number of times I watched the first two Superman films as a child…
A brilliant villain. Scared me to death.
RIP

Superb as the cad , Sergeant Troy, in the excellent film adaptation of Far From the Madding Crowd. Part of a brilliant cast …Alan Bates, Julie Christie, Peter Finch… in one of my favourite British films.
