Increased away ticket allocations in the CFS

Just noticed a ticket announcement on the Liverpool FC club site.
Don’t know how to post a screenshot on here but cut and paste is as follows:

Liverpool FC has released the following away ticket details for the Premier League
fixture against Burnley on Sunday 14 September, 2025.
Location: Turf Moor
Kick-off: 14:00
Allocation: 2350
We are aware that stadium development works at Turf Moor will result in an increased away
allocation for Premier League clubs during the 2025/26 season. However, due to the
current stage of these ongoing works, Burnley FC have confirmed that the allocation for this
fixture represents the maximum number of away tickets currently approved by their Safety
Advisory Group (SAG).
Supporters may notice that there are unused seats within the away section that will remain
netted off. These seats are not currently available for use and will only be released once
further approval is granted by the SAG as the development progresses.

If you go to the ticket section and download the ticket sales information document it’s all there.

Seems OK to me, but I think we should have that centre section, directly behind the goal. That should be corrected ASAP, unless that takes them under the minimum number.

Pretty sure the minimum number of away tickets we have to have available is 3000 or 10% of capacity if it’s less than 30000

Our capacity is 23500 so that 2350 is what we have to have available

I thought we were just under 22k?

We could be. It’s fluctuated over the seasons with all the developments and changes with seats

Looks like listed as 21,990 so would need to offer 2,199

There will be more than 150 seats in the block so taking that block out of the allocation for away would take it below 2199

From my seat in the Bob Lord stand, near the home dugout, the area in the top right hand corner of the away support, which appears to be the standing area, had no supporters in it. That may be the area the SAG have not yet approved, for increased the away allocation. Given the gate was a few hundred below capacity, that may have the reason it was not a full house.

The far right of the CFS nearest the longside was empty so I think the full away allocation will be closer to 3k.

What does the full stand hold?

In terms of seats, it will be around 4,000, I'm not sure if the change of seats (to plastic ones) has made any difference to this.

We don't seem to sell all the seats in the home section though.

It had not occurred to me before but the switch and the infrastructure changes must be intended to get the ground safety certificate to allow the sale of all tickets on both sides.

We know they had to leave loads of seats empty in the home end for years.

We have a pound foolish penny wise approach at times, so it wouldn’t surprise me if a beancounter has added the extra ticket income to the extra bar income on a 5 year view and justified the capital expenditure, without regard to the atmosphere or other intangibles.

So the claim that we are giving away fans 3000 tickets isn’t quite factual then?

Sounds really poor organisation from the club, but not so surprising.

This explains it.

I was very shocked with all the empty seats and thought it odd Sunderland hadn't sold out their allocation.

No it's not. Roughly the same as previous seasons, 2200ish.

It's roughly 2200, 10% of ground capacity.

Looks like it’s going to increase by a few hundred with the changes in the stand (subject to SAG approval).

How can it be the same when the away end is bigger than last year ?

Because they didn't give them all the seats, just 2200.

So I don't understand why we didnt use the bottom of the North Stand as with Lazio and not give a hugh chunk of the Cricket Field Stand up to away fans.

Leisure, read the opening post on this thread.

1. Liverpool have been allocated 2,350 tickets.
2. They are telling their supporters that the empty seats are for a reason, their information suggests the capacity of the away end will increase over time, perhaps not massively but up from the 2,350 they are allocated in mid September.

My guess would be 1,500 in the home section and around 2,600 in the away end (when all the work/approval talked about in the opening post is complete).

Cup games are 15% of capacity. so the issue will come when we need to give around 3,300 to away fans.

I have. The 100 or so more than last season is possibly down to the new rail-seating seats taking up less room than the seats which they've taken out, so more actual seats.

The seatscare still in place wherevthe rail standing is, we'll atleast it is in the home section on the CF stand.

The seats most definitely didn't look new, i assume they were the ones the club had to pop in when we were in Europe.
