Assuming Tuanzebe is fit -
--------------------Weiss
Sonne Tuanzebe Worrall Pires
----------Ramsey Laurent
Edwards Tchaouna Larsen
--------------Flemmimg
Think Larsen looked like he needed game time yesterday and this is an ideal opportunity. I can't see Parker going with Flemming at 10 given he didn't play that way at all last season and I'd be surprised if Broja was fit to start given he hasn't featured at all (anywhere) in pre season. More likely he's on the bench with a view to 30 minutes.
The only other player who might come into the thinking is Tresor, who us obviously another alternative to Larsen on the left. Better to get Larsen up to speed though IMO.
If Tuanzebe isn't fit, Ekdal would be asked to go again.

We chatted about this yesterday in the car. Whilst players need minutes i would be tempted to go strong, 1)wins are going to be hard to find this season so trying to build a bit of confidence early might help and 2) there is a week off after Man Utd
I would go with a few changes (protecting anthony esteve, cullen and foster)
Dubravka
Walker Worrall Ekdal Hartman
Big les. Laurent
Hannibal
Edwards. Loum
Flemming

It has to be used for minutes for players on the verge of the first team.
I would stick with Dubravka for this cup game though. Not sure he played much pre season and needs to get used to all our players.
Give the 2nd keeper a game in the next round if we get through.

I think Broja was limping on Sat as he went down the touchline before the game.

We have so many players I don’t know how SP picks a team. Guess that’s why he is manager

Parker commented after the game saying he’s close to fitness and he could be involved v Derby.

Probably this for me but swap Edwards and Tchaouna around.

No Mike Tresor today so surely he must be close to a start tomorrow?

With Tresor it's anybody's guess. Could easily mean he's injured or not ready even for today's game.

I think it will be at least 9 changes from Saturday.
If Tresor isn't involved it will pretty much confirm he's off

He's basically here as a cheerleader this season.

Do we know the latest with Ugochukwu? As didn't he come off with a bit of a knock/limp vs Sunderland. It might be he gets the rest of the week to fully recovery from it.

Same setup as against Sunderland, JBL effectively a wing back in a back 5. Sonne on for JBL at half time. Tchaouna on for Edwards,Broja on for Barnes and Tresor (assuming available) for Flemming around 60.

I suspect he starts tonight.
One of Parker’s boys I get the feeling.
Not against it. He’s a club legend if this is his last season he’s earnt the right to play in these type of games.

I know what you mean, but with Flemming and Broja both needing minutes I'm not sure Barnes' right outweighs their need to get on the pitch. He is a club legend and no doubt a big plus behind the scenes, but no room for any sentimentality. Everything needs to be geared towards getting our best players fit and ready to play Premier league games.

I don't think he'd be a Burnley player if it was up to Parker. Not insider knowledge but it very much seemed like a Pace signing.

If you base it just on who played against Stoke and Lazio you get the same players who were in the squad for the last two matches other than Hladky:
Weiss
Sonne....Worrell....Pires
Edwards..Laurent...Tchauona
You can add Flemming to that as he's been on the bench twice and needs the minutes.
Delcroix played the full 90 against Shrewsbury, Ramsey played 65 minutes, Banel played 82 minutes and Barnes 45 but that still doesn't make a full team:
.................Weiss
Sonne....Worrell....Delcroix....Pires
Tchauona...Laurent....xxx...Banel
................Edwards
..................Flemming
Could this be an opportunity to see a couple of the U21s get an outing? I can see that there are players who took part in the early season friendlies but who weren't involved against Liverpool yesterday. If Bauress or McDermott weren't out on loan I'd have expected one to start.

Any of the none starters with Foster. Him getting a goal will give him the confidence Infront of goal he desperately needs

Flemming and Broja to get a half each or 60 / 30 in favour of Flemming depending on how fit Broja is.

I'd agree with this, with a good few others getting introduced on circa the 60th minute.
I'll be honest though, this game is useful as a fitness exercise and seeing which players are up for it, however i won't be too gutted if Derby knock us out so we can "Concentrate on the League".

Today has to be the last of the last chances. If we don't see him tonight that's got to be it.
