Weis - 7 - naught to do but did ok

Sonne - 7 - +1 for the winner. Was steady away bit nothing to write home about
Worral - 5 - WTF was he doing for the goal?
Bash - 6 - solid enough, great to see him back.
Pires - 7 - looked decent going forward.

Edwards - 4 - did sweet FA.
Laurent - 7 - solid in the middle.
Ramsey - 7 - great to see him back and on the score sheet.
Tchauna - 9 - MoTM looked a real threat.

Fleming - 6 - did nothing wrong.
Broja - 4 - well off the pace.

Tuanzebe - 6 - didn’t notice him either way.
Banel - 7 - looked a threat.
Barney - 6 - lacked service but organised well.
Magic Mike - 7 - touched the ball about twice but a wonderful assist.

As I said on the match thread a brilliant pass to Banel when he went shoot and great pass in the build up to the goal, a good glancing header then all round awesomeness in the few minutes he was on so yes, 8. 8-)

Weiss 6 - did nothing of any consequence one way or the other
Sonne 7 - a tidy finish and even tidier sniffer dog attitude for the chance, won us the game
Worrall 6 - badly culpable for their goal, on his heels, and looked a bit one paced but satisfactory
Humphreys 6 - tidy but way short of fitness
Pires 6 - not as effective as last season against a bunch of cloggers
Ramsey 6 - good goal but few good moments otherwise. No real creativity.
Laurent 8 MOM - limited but solid and did the important things we needed including defending
Edwards 7 - created more than anyone, bought a free-kick, put one on Barnes’ head etc. Obviously looks down after being dropped, in my view harshly. Their goal wasn’t mainly on him.
Tchaouna 7 - lively and positive but worryingly has a poor first touch and ducks out of tackles. The former may never change. I like him though.
Flemming 5 - way short of fitness. I hope.
Broja 5 - way short of fitness. I hope.

Subs:
Banel 6 - looked keen and lively, but, in truth, a bit one dimensional
Barnes 6 - put himself about but was well marshalled
Tresor 100  redemption arc that hopefully doesn’t see him shipped out this week but I fear will. Has the killer pass that few in our squad have. Two touches I recall - created the winner and bought a foul. Message to Scott - pressing is important but creativity in the 10 is more important.

An enjoyable but fairly safe game that appeared to be a training exercise. Because we know now that if we get minnows in the QF we will still put out the reserves, it takes away the excitement. So for me it was about watching individuals and judging them. Nobody really made a case to start on Saturday (so they won’t) but some made a case to be on the bench, Edwards, Tresor, Laurent and Tchaouma amongst them.

I'm surprised to see people scoring Laurent very low marks.
He was the one doing all the graft, so that others could play.
I like Laurent, he just seems like he's enjoying himself and works bloody hard.

Tresor - No rating but he's known as the 'assist' man for a reason.

Broja looks like a man who was petrified of getting injured, his injuries must have an affect on the confidence he has in his body. Only games will correct this.

Edwards did so much to get himself in good situations but his decision making and final pass were way off.

My fault, not his, he wasn’t invisible, quite decent in fact :)

Weiss -6. - nothing really to do
Sonne - 7 for the goal about the only time he broke forward tidy all game but covering for Edward’s probably held him back
Worrall - 7 - solid capt performance
Humphreys - 5 at fault for first goal - not convinced his best position id c/h better as full back
Pires - 7 grew into game and was lively - involved in nearly everything that came down left
Laurent - 8 - heart - energy - legs gives 100% every game
Ramsey - 7 - solid enough - few sloppy passes but getting back to a level
Tchaouna - 8 - there’s definitely a player in their
Edwards - 4. - very poor did not look interested - poor positions passing and movement
Flemming - 6 unlucky with header
Broja - 5 - purely getting minutes in the legs - sharpness will come with games and work hopefully

Banel - 7 always looked direct - heads up and forward moving - hope to see more
Barnes - 6 did everything Flemming did
Tresor - (6)ood movement and through ball for goal not long enough on to score fairly
Tuanzebe 7 or however you spell it - looked solid and a unit better c/h than humphries

Weiss 7 - decent display, used the ball pretty well.
Sonne 6 - superb run and finish for the goal. Solid otherwise and a couple.of really nice passes, one iffy moment in the first half apart.
Worrell 6 - solid enough but his lack of pace on the turn is a concern
Humphreys 6 - thought he was excellent t on the ball but perhaps not as dominant as we'd like.
Pires 7 - a really good game from Pires, defended well, showed a good touch and used the ball well barring the error in the second d half.
Edwards 6 - some nice movement to create space for himself and others. Touch was also good but not quite on the same wave length of his team mates at times amd final execution slightly off.
Laurent 8* - a steady first half but dominated their midfield in the second half.
Ramsey 7 - used the ball nicely in the first half and took his goal well, slightly sloppy in the second half.
Tchouna 7 - a real threat, his touch, particularly when receiving aerial balls on the run needs work, but his general play was good and he hit the same post again! Could be an important player for us and still plenty of room for development.
Flemming 6 - worked hard throughout and won a good amount of duals. His use of the ball perhaps not as strong as we'd like today though
Broja 6 - has a real presence but played like someone who wanted the minutes under his belt today and to avoid injury. Still came off with an assist and clearly has a good touch, physicality and pace.

Tuanzebe 6 - untroubled defensively and is another imposing figure. His passing was a little suspect at times though unfortunately.
Panel 7 - absolutely rapid and very direct. Their defence really struggled with him, still very raw and needs to work on his final ball but plenty of potential
Barnes 6 - gave us a physical presence.

An entertaining game.of football with some good goals scored. There's a good amount of talent to work with within this squad and props to Laurent who I thought was excellent in the second half, won so many loose balls and just overpowered their midfield. With Tuanzebe and Humphreys back also our back line is also much stronger and Broja will provide us another attacking option at the weekend.

Weiß 6
Sonne 6 He's competent but average in basically every department. Will probably be a reliable backup option when needed. Presumably he doesn't come in against United after playing today
Worrall 5 - He'd have been good about 15 years ago.
Humphreys 6 - never been fully convinced by him yet
Pires 8
Laurent 6 - a midfield pairing of Laurent and Ramsey was never going to elicit a good performance. There was no real playmaker from deep. I spent a few minutes watching Laurent at one point to try and see why he seems to struggle in terms of getting on the ball. He scanned about once in the few minutes I watched him, even when our centre halves had the ball and were looking for an option. I don't know the stats but I'm pretty sure he should be scanning a lot more than he is as a central midfielder at this level
Ramsey 5 - Weak, coughs up possession in ridiculous areas still. Not for me, I'd happily see us get shut.
Tchauna 7 - threatening without the end product. Based on his performance the other day I'd prefer to see him central or pn the right coming in onto his left.
Edwards 3 - He's probably ended his own hopes of getting a starting spot anytime soon in the league with that display. Appalling attitude and did nothing on the ball.
Flemming 4 - Extremely rusty and can't really run. Could be wrong but he looks like he does too much upper body work to me which hinders his mobility.
Broja 3 - il pretend I didn't see that display and will treat his next game as his debut.

Subs
Banel 7
Barnes 7
Tuanzebe 7
Tresor - won't mark but ignoring the obvious, there was a noticeably different attitude to him compared to what we saw under Kompany. He was bigger, leaner and engaged out of possession, closing down with a bit of intensity. I then watched him stay out after every other player had left the pitch and speak to a fitness coach before doing sprints up and down the pitch on his own. I said it on another thread but it's made we wonder if the illness he had started during the Kompany season which would explain why he looked so far off it.

Weiss- 6. Couldn’t do anything with the goal and had nothing else to do.

Sonne- 7. Looks to be gaining confidence and getting better the more he plays
Worrall- 7. Won almost everything in the air. Doesn’t want to have to turn though.
Humphreys. 6- spun on halfway far too easily for their goal
Pires- 7. Great ball to get out for our first

Laurent- 6. A bit slow at times which means he gets caught out
Ramsey- 6. Good goal, but felt like he was in and out of the game a lot

Edwards - 5. Just doesn’t look like there’s much effort and then he pulls something off. Looked disinterested at times
Flemming- 5. Hopefully just not match fit.
Tchouana- 8*. Star man for me. Actually wanted to attack. A winger who gets stuck in. Massive upgrade on Koleosho

Broja- 5. Quiet. Hopefully same as Flemming, just needs more game time

Tuanzebe- 6. Grew into it I felt
Barnes - 7. Couple of good touches when we needed quality
Banel- 7. Direct. Wants to get at his man which can only be a good thing in an era of wingers refusing to take a man on
Tresor- na. Not on long enough but a great pass for the winner

All this Edwards ‘attitude’ talk. I have seen pics and videos of him with last years promotion celebrations and he is always subdued….even when the boys are drinking and singing Natasha’s hit.

Edwards was a major factor in us getting promoted and is extremely talented whether he starts or comes off the bench

Some of us are harsh on our players. Ekdal last week, Edwards this week, Kolo all year last year.
