Sky sports news cutting Parker off

Started off hot on the post match interview then cut off straightaway.

Don’t let managers speak their truth unless you’re one of the big 6.

I haven’t seen the interview, and from Milltowns first sentence I don’t understand what happened.
Can anyone (Milltown?) explain?

Footballs gone sterile
We’re going back 2/3 phases of play for every decision
You can’t celebrate anymore

I’m assuming he swore because sky have a ten second delay for that reason but still a bit weird to not go back to him after spending four hours worshipping United.

It’s clear and obvious that the pull on the shirt starts outside the box and that it doesn’t make you fall over a few paces later. I absolutely hate VAR, it’s sucking the life out of the game. I’m almost certain that if that was at the other end it wouldn’t have even been checked

Thank you for putting that video up.
Well said Mr. Parker in my opinion and well done to him for holding his temper when he must be fuming inside.
I don't know if he was cut off straight after that or not but I see nothing wrong with that part of his interview at all. Does anyone else?

Anthony knew as soon as it happened that he was in bother when VAR checked it.

It’s the consistency, or lack of it, that annoys me.

The rules are to be interpreted in a way that incorporates common sense though no?

Rules or not, can anybody seriously tell me that the same decision would have been given down the opposite end of the field?

Scott is spot on.

It sounds insane to me what people come out with to try to justify these decisions. Trying to quantify a dynamic sport like we're looking at binary data. It's properly f*****g mental.

Id rather the ref got it wrong at full pace than var get it wrong when itcan look from 10 angles at 10 speeds
Var has destroyed the game

Yes.

We literally have an example of a VAR decision in our favour in the first half

We’ll be fine. Parker is a proper man. He’s knows what’s right and wrong.

I’d be embarrassed being a United fan right now.

The Walker and Anthony ones aren’t too dissimilar one was given one wasn’t .

And what I meant was , if it was a Burnley player “fouled” at the other end against United at Old Trafford , do you believe the officials would have given us a penalty.

I don’t.

If he’d have let go before the player entered the box, it wouldn’t have been a penalty. We need to be more savvy now we’re back in the Prem, those decisions will be given against us every time.

The thing that I object to is that it was only a foul because the United man threw himself down. For United's second goal, the winger pulled back Ekdal by his shoulder, but Ekdal didn't fall over so it was no foul. If Ekdal had flung himself down, preferably with a loud shout of pain, VAR would at least have looked at it.

Anthony was stupid, though. Shirts are stretchy, and he wasn't pulling it hard enough to impede him. All you do when you pull someone;s shirt is give him the chance to throw himself down and claim the foul.

Can’t believe there has been reference to the great Walker tackle in the first half that led to their goal. He clearly won the ball which then went for a goal kick to us. But the ref contrived to give a free kick which led to the Cullen og. Also I have not seen any proof that the Foster disallowed goal was offside other than 2 cartoon characters standing 1mm apart. As Scott correctly says the game is sterile and hence unenjoyable

If the referee was up to standard as a Premier League referee, he would have seen the shirt pull outside the box and given a free-kick i.e. no penalty

Parker is spot on. The way VAR is being operated is ruining the game at the top level.

I didn’t miss it one bit last season.

Absolutely spot on.

Someone making an incorrect decision about a close call in real time is forgiveable and part of the game - the human factor

Someone making the same mistake after looking at a replay with hundreds of measuring tools and AI backup is unforgivable
