• Buying a home game ticket

I'm a season ticket holder and very rarely have to buy a ticket for home games, but I've had a request from a visiting friend.

So I go into the official site, ticket section, signed into my account. It tells me that the only people who can purchase tickets for any upcoming home games is those with an extra membership scheme.

Is that really the case?

At the minute, unless you have a paid for membership, you can only buy tickets for the Liverpool and Forest games

Sorry, I was looking specifically for the Forest game.

So you couldn't buy any other tickets without an extra membership then? How did that one get through?

Just out of interest, the Forest game doesn't load up any available tickets for me.

Not that I'm wanting a ticket for it, but when would the Leeds game be available for non-extra members?

Pure greed from the club - you cant get a "general sale" ticket until very close to the game, when most of the better seats - or coupled seats are gone

Being able to pay for privilege is a cornerstone of American society, so we shouldn't be surprised.

But I agree, it's a disgrace in a town like Burnley.

According to information on the club site home tickets go on sale 3 weeks before the fixture takes place.

I’ve just tried to purchase a ticket for the Forest game as a STH, assigned it to my name & number and it’s let me progress through to the payment page.

You do have to do a bit of a search to find a green available seat though

I went against my principles and got extra membership so I could get tickets for friends. It really did grind my gears however as a ST holder of many years and a shareholder with a reasonable number of shares.

This is not an American thing really but I agree it’s a disgrace but this is a Premier League and demand thing

Give it 3 seasons in the championship and it would all disappear

For that exact reason i have boycotted purchasing home tickets this season
Gave up the season ticket due to re-arranged games last season, and the liklihood of there being the same switches this season - i'd prefer to buy 2 or 3 ad hoc game tickets, but not paying for membership for family who would only go on the odd game

And i'm not overly arsed about trying just for the big games - basically any game will do if we are all free to attend

People in Burnley are buying them though.

The big problem is being able to get 4 away tickets, that's just wrong. If 4 people share the £150 its not that much to guarantee tickets.

You can't get 4 tickets with the £150 Premium membership, only 1. The 4 is for Hospitality Members.

Its about stopping fans of rival clubs buying tickets or ticketing sites buying them etc

Not sure but a lot of people in the away end at Spurs who were clearly not Burnley fans.

You don't have to pay for a membership but you can only buy home tickets if you have a Clarets Number. You can't just go and buy a handful 'on spec' as it were.

I thought so too - didn't see any evidence really yesterday other than Burnley fans but at Spurs there were so many people in there who had no real idea who Burnley were. I saw some bloke on Twitter saying he and his family were there from America (claiming that Burnley were now their new team). But there were others, many of them, from different countries who were clearly not Burnley supporters, all of them getting tickets from what was a smaller allocation than it might have been.

The steward in front of us within the united end was saying they are less than a dozen STH in that section

The rest are all “tourist” there for the day, which you could tell with the number that were wearing brand new shirts asking for directions to their seat

We say loads of tourists at the United game outside of Old Trafford, all with their spanking new shirts on and many wearing half and half scarves.

It's everywhere, and as we saw at Spurs it's preventing supporters from attending, but Old Trafford is unbelievably so. You come out of the place at the end and there's no reaction from those leaving whether they've won, drawn or lost, as they depart with their big club shop bags and half & half scarves which this time did not have the Villa badge on our half as they did one year there.

Yet there were no tourists in our end at Old Trafford, where demand should be high, so what was the problem that made tickets available at Spurs?

Pretty sure if you get a premium membership for 150 quid you go to the top of the queue for away tickets. If you really want to do those 2 games its probably worth it because they aren't the biggest away ends.

The Premium costs £150 and gives 1st access to home and away tickets The £35 membership gives 1st access to home tickets but only 4th(?) priority period for away games.

Found this on the app, however I would confirm with the ticket office before buying.

BFC Junior Membership
BFC Premium Membership

I think that the cheap one is the Extra Membership. I was wrong saying that it gives access to home tickets in the 1st period, it's the 2nd
