How many incomings today? I’m going just the one.
Sounds like Mellon is going on loan to Oldham with his dad.

Hoping for two incomings but I think we'll only sign Florentino.

Sunderland signing Netherlands international right back Geertruida from Leipzig. In talks with fellow Dutch international striker Brian Brobbey from Ajax too. Would have loved the former here.

Liverpool have splashed out £400 million and are apparently still chasing Guehi from Palace.

Just shows how obscene football has become when a team can splash out 126million on a player. Talk about a level playing field, football is becoming a joke, time these top teams fecked off to a superleague and left the proper teams to a level playing field by introducing a salary cap on wages and a limited transfer spending for all clubs.
Never happen though, too many greedy feckers involved. You only have to look at VAR and you can see the way things are going for the other teams with some awful decisions from the guys sat in their white vans hundreds of miles away from the grounds.
RANT OVER!

Luis is exactly the type of player we need in midfield. From what I’ve seen of him, he’s quick, got bundles of energy, wins it and then gives it to someone who’s better on the ball than he is. I reckon this signing will cut down the number of chances we are currently coughing up……..

I think that will be us done for players in unless a late loan becomes available, think the rest of the day will be spent getting some out

Some talk that if Liverpool sign Guehi then Joe Gomez could be allowed to go.
I’d be all over that one, though it puts another injury prone player in the Tuanzebe position. We need physicality though.

Linked earlier in the window.
Not beyond the realms of possibility but would mean shifting Worrall out to make space in the squad.
Definitely what we need IMO

Unless Tresor is staying, which I really can’t imagine (or we’re signing another 10, which I equally can’t imagine), feel this is a bit of a mistake. Going very light on creativity in midfield.

We shouldn’t be letting Ramsey out in my opinion. Needs to be phased back in, starts the next cup game as well for me

Ramsey has got 5 other players ahead of him in midfield now. Getting back to 90 minutes every week is probably something he wants and we want, I think. Hopefully there’s a January break clause in case we have injuries.

Ramsay should stay. Played very well against Derby the full 90 mins, and on bench in the league.
Should have put him into the #10 against United rather than whoever was floating in that area after Hannibal went off.
We're not blessed with creativity, can't just use defensive midfielders to win.

Is Ramsay the latest player to have got better and better the less he plays?
There’s a talented player in there and he needs game time, but realistically is that with us? Is that a luxury we can afford? A loan deal where he’s a guaranteed starter seems eminently sensible.

Agree on his performance v Derby. However, we play with a right sided midfielder in a 5-4-1, who drifts into a right sided 10 area / inside forward area when attacking. The sub who came on was Tchaouna who looks bright, quick and physical. Another option there is Edwards. It does seem we are prioritising pace and duel winners this season, which on the surface appears a more pragmatic way of going about things in this league.

He made 14 appearances in the Premier League with us and was one of the better players, after a wonderful season in the championship where he bagged 8 goals in 29 form midfield.
He was the best player against Derby.
There is no better player than him in the squad that can play an advanced midfield role. Flemming always get stuck upfront, Hannibal is ok but better deeper, and that's it.

The last of those 14 prem appearances was when? 18 months ago? He’s has an awful injury and there are no guarantees he is the same player. That wonderful season in the championship is even longer ago.
He had a good game against the second string of a team that sits 21st in the championship.
The player who replaced Hannibal was Tchaouna, who had an even better game against that Derby team.
Let’s have a bit of perspective.

Besides his decent debut against Man United at home, he was absolutely awful. Had 0 goals and 0 assists, how was he one of our better players? He cost us (Newcastle and Villa goals) more than he contributed.
