Good experience for the lad, good keeper I think. Feel a bit for the guy who had a fantastic game vs United though.
It’s going to be a very young and inexperienced team competing in the PL2 this year.

I would suspect Charlie is going as cover - Pym is very much first choice there.
As for our under-21s, he has played in two of the games this season but we didn't see much of him last season due to his loans so it will be Lewis Forshaw, who played a lot last season, and Felix Chester our two goalkeepers at that level.

Good luck Charlie.
Played really well in that last U21 game Clarets+ streamed.

You couldn't have asked more for your goalkeeper than his performance in that game at Liverpool

Is sitting on Grimsby's bench better than playing regularly for our under 21s?

I hope he still gets PL standard coaching

Is playing for the Under 21's stopping the development of the next cab off the rank?

That’s the issue. Sam Waller is currently doing the same at Crewe. Same happened with Lukas Jensen when he went out on loan.

Think perhaps sometimes, seeing how things are done at other clubs is also part of a young players development.
Still hope he gets some game time though.

It's difficult finding clubs for our lads and I think the most difficult position is that of a keeper because you either play or don't play (yes, keepers can be sent off or injured but neither happens often). At least he's with a L2 club. We'll see how it works out but I think a move was necessary.
And as Buxtonclaret says, the mere fact of being at another club will help him gain experience.
