CFS - Ticket Exchange

Has anyone ever had an answer as to why us season ticket holders in the CFS can’t sell tickets on the ticket exchange?

I phoned to ask the ticket office today, they said we just don’t do it for that stand and could give me a reason.

Surely if we could use this option it allows the club to have a better idea of who would be purchasing the tickets rather than them being flogged on X to a random!

I can’t attend 3 home games before Christmas due to various reasons, so thought this could’ve been an option for me, seen as we don’t even have a season card to pass on anymore.

I’ve made sure the ISA are aware of this. I don’t like the idea of what is like a two tier structure for supporters.

Is there any chance you could find out why we don't get loyalty points for using QR codes for home league games as well Tony? Mine still haven't gone on for Sunderland. 95 points over the season.

I did wonder if the reason was financial as the tickets in the CFS would likely be cheaper on the resale and the club would rather see the more expensive seats in the bob lord, JH etc sold first.

I remember seeing posts on the previous CFS thread saying there was an option to have a season card printed, anybody managed to get this done or was it hearsay?

I think it's basically so they can have more control over who sits in there. We all know away fans buy tickets in home ends. They manage to avoid this in the CFS by stopping resale.

You can’t even forward tickets to friends and family with claret numbers either nor upgrade them.

It is two tier ticketing by BFC especially when you also know that it’s digital only in there, no more sharing your ticket if you can’t go on

That's not true Rick_Muller. My usual pal couldn't attend the Sunderland game and forwarded it with no problems to a friend.

Well it’s not my experience and I had it confirmed by the ticket office on the phone. I wanted to forward my ticket to my son, but the website wouldn’t allow it. I also tried to upgrade an U18 to an adult and that also failed. Called ticket office and they told me it wasn’t possible

For the CFS? I wonder why. If it's helpful to know my pal managed to forward a digital ticket I think from the website to a friend who could download to a digital wallet. But he basically got in using a digital pdf QR code in case downloading to the wallet caused any issues.

Jimmy Mac upper and lower are on exchange system and they’re cheapest in ground so not financial really.

Are st’s in cfs not like rocking horse poo and rarely available to buy? Probably more to do with retaining more control on a stand shared with away fans.

I think it’ll be because it’s season ticket holders only in CFS, you can’t buy one off match tickets in there, we’ve tried previously when wanting to take a friend.
Got told it was for security reasons- it came in the season after it kicked off at the Arsenal game.
Whether the plod insisted or whether it’s our decision I don’t know but seems a bit ott and annoying for us when a friend visiting wants to come to a game.

It is and it did get hairy at times with knobs piling past us (we are sat quite close to the divide) to goad away fans after we’d scored. But they did also make the no man’s land area between the two sets of fans a lot bigger which stopped them from actually being able to reach one another.

Just as I said it’s a bit annoying when you’re wanting to take family members etc who live away to the odd match and them not being able to sit in the same stand.

Maybe to stop scrotes buying tickets in there just looking to cause trouble they could just tweak it a bit that only ST holders could buy a match ticket in there (if any were available) with the warning that if any trouble did occur anyone identified will traced back to the ST holder that purchased the ticket and they will incur a punishment/ban as well.

Is your son in the under 18 category? A friend couldn't make the Sunderland game and they forwarded their ticket to me with no problem.

I would have gone with they don't trust their own ticketing systems - a situation which many on this board appear to share

Do you mean the clubs ticket exchange, or an independent one?
My understanding is if you put them on the club exchange they sell them with the same rules they sell any other ticket.

QR screenshot works but unless you trust someone with your season image for the season, doesn't seem worth the risk.

Ahh fair enough, it may have allowed us to do it as we're all in the CFS anyway, not sure. Though I agree it is ridiculous that us in the CFS can't put our tickets on the exchange nor can you buy tickets for one game. Last season in our old seats there were around 10+ seats empty all season in the rows around us, a friend came from abroad for the last game against Millwall but the club wouldn't sell me a ticket for it in one of the spare seats, extremely frustrating.

I know people who use other people tickets in the cfs....I dont how they do it, but I'll ask next time I speak to them.

Pretty much any stand where it is acknowledged the more rowdy elements will be based, is usually a little more basic, and often has restrictions. It's the same with most football stadiums around the world.

I guess this explains the push from the club to enforce digital tickets in the CFS this season, perhaps as a trial to go wider next year (providing we're still in the Prem that is). Just a simple communications would have covered that instead of the enforced change that had no apparent reason.

I managed to transfer my ticket to a family member for the liverpool game in the CFS with no problem at all. Very Easy and no hiccups. So keep trying as its definitely doable

I think some of the problems are that users dont understand the "manage tickets" even though its been explained many times

If its working for most people, I'd suggest those having problems, dont know how the system works, or have it set up wrong, others are trying to forward tickets to people not entitled to them, but blame the system

The one thing they won't do, is when they realise its not a system fault, come back on here and apologise

Never heard of the option to have a shared ticket. Is it registered in both names? Do they have 2 membership numbers? What happens with awarding Loyalty Points?

It's not an official option....people share a season ticket, its been going on for ages.
It's in one person's name, but because they can't go to every game, say night matches, or Sundays, or when they're on holidays, they share it with someone else, or several people..and it happens in the cfs....so somehow they manage to transfer the digital ticket because the one I'm aware of has been used by 2 different people already this season, and hopefully a third on saturday

I've accessed the ticket via the app and it says "your QR code will be available soon" when is soon, am I doing something wrong, or are the club just making it difficult for me to utilise use of the seat ive paid for?

You need to add the recipient to your Network, and then go via the Manage Tickets option and forward to said person from there.

Who'd have thought that you had to do it via the main website only, i was trying to do it via my tickets in the app, a place where you can't do it for some reason.
