They're not happy with the ownership of the club and have made their feelings public
Protests planned at next couple of home games

Hilarious that they had finished 6th, 7th and 9th with a 14th finish and European trophy one season in between, and wanted rid of the manager. You still ask fans and they are glad that bloke has gone. They’ll never be happy until they win another World Cup tbh.

But is that representative of all or even the majority of their fans, or is it just a few gobby, deluded berks?

I can assure you it's not a few gobby fans - huge problems there between ownership and fans.

Do they still play “the West Ham way”?

Some would absolutely love for us to be doing the same.

if you've ever watched the likes of Nicky Hawkins on WHFTV you'd understand he (and many others) cares deeply about the club he supports and goes to every single game. As others have mentioned, it's not a few gobby lads.

Its cute that they think there is any point.
On paper, the ownership has delivered a european trophy, a huge new ground for very little money and several seasons of PL football.
I can thinknof several clubs that would swap

They had the right man in charge but let him go. Watch Everton and West Ham swap places this season. Also, they had issues with ownership when Wood and Barnes smashed them at the London Stadium. I don't recall them having an issue when they won a European trophy a couple of years back. Fickle, like most football fans!

And that's one sticking point - it's horrendous to watch football there too

It's interesting to see how dismissive people are of other clubs' fans' views on their ownership. I doubt anyone saying the West Ham fans are wrong would be impressed with those West Ham fans rubbishing thoughts about our owners.

It's all well and good having a snipe at fans of other clubs but some of them are going through a torrid time. There are far, far worse than West Ham undoubtedly but at the end of the day, fans should support fans as much as possible.
This site, for example, has just supported Football Supporters Europe over the attempts to move a La Liga game to the USA and a Serie A game to Australia. If we, fans, are not careful, some of these rogues will completely ruin our game.

West Ham are the epitome of Everything wrong with modern day football .... same with Everton ....
The entitlement of 'The west ham way' or we should be better etc.... whilst sacking the manager that won you your first trophy due to fan pressure astounds me ....
20 Teams in the PL and it's very competitive .... Get over yourselves
I totally appreciate it's not that simple .... and it's not everyone ... and their owners are who they are.... but not every team can be sucessful or meet fan expectation

Seems pretty joyless supporting West Ham (Conference League aside, that looked fun regardless of the standard). Honestly, I’d call it a day if I had to trek to an athletics bowl on some retail / industrial park. Was everything they’ve lost worth it, to be where they are now?

I get the sentiment, but West Ham fans are beyond parody, they really are.

Some of the fans there have very little awareness of their club. Think they're a massive club, when they're not. Think they are owed a side that plays attacking football and wins - nobody is owed that. Have very little respect for a manager that did the extraordinary - getting them into the top echelons of the division and winning a European trophy. I'm afraid, they get what they deserve.

It's nothing to do with managers or the way they play though.

Aging uncompetitive squad? Lack of scouting network?
Commercial revenues dwarfed by supposed rivals? Millwall? Who are they talking about here? Spurs? If so, it’s like when Blackburn thought Man Utd were their rivals. Bournemouth, Brighton, Palace and Brentford don’t beat them off the pitch do they? But they do on the pitch…… usual complaint from West Ham fans, forgetting the European trophy they won. They have better scouting approaches etc, but they’ve done it through hard work.
That letter is dripping g with entitlement. Standing up for clubs against bad owners, I’m all for it. Sheff Wednesday, Fleetwood etc we should all be together. Because West Ham have an aging squad unlike their rivals? Just can’t have it. What are these owners doing that’s so bad?

I only know a couple of West Ham fans, both are regulars at games since the mid to late seventies. While both are likeable and intelligent generally when it comes to West ‘Ahhm it does seem their Claret and Blue shades blind them to reality. When I point out that when Brooking won them the FA Cup they were on the way back up from the second division…
What they see around them is Chelsea go from a similar size to being put on steroids by the Russians, Tottenham going from top half to top six and Arsenal keeping pace up and around the elite. I don’t think it helps their nearest rivals being Millwall and Leyton Orient; so they pretty much have a monopoly on the East end.
To listen to them though does make me think about our noisy neighbours, that they deserve to sit at the very top table. I think while the majority of other clubs would love to be considered superior to other clubs, few actually believe it gives them the right to expect success.
[edit] … though the sense of entitlement does seem to becoming ever more common among the nouveau rich, it is like reaching the Premier brings ‘a plague on your house’.

Reading that letter it is exactly what I expected it to say,
When a fan base thinks it has a divine right to be winning things (something they hardly ever do) and then thinks it might be in a relegation fight this type of letter will always appear from these types of groups.

Won the World Cup, LOL. They’ve never even won the big league.
As a fan base, they’re as deluded as they come.

Feel sorry for them leaving Upton Park to go to that abomination of a ground. Was bad enough visiting it once.

You would have to be an idiot not to be concerned about the level of debt at the club but I don't get the sense that anyone wants to write a letter like that to the board.
I can't think why West Ham fans wanted to get rid of Moyes so badly so in some ways I think they have contributed to the issues.
But on the general point of ownership - fans should take some responsibility as stakeholders in their club or as CT says the game could change and not for the better.

They have spent the best part of a billion pounds in the last 10 years, more than Villa, Newcastle & others. They just never seem to buy well.

They lost their soul when they left the Boleyn Ground - woe betide anybody say "Upton Park" to a WH fan - and their fans seem to have changed. It was a bit of a bearpit on and off the pitch. Such a cramped ground. I don't think teams used to like playing there.
The Taxpayers Stadium is completely different and they seem to turn on their players quickly.
