POST CODE LOTTERY

Has anyone won more than a tenner on this Post Code lottery.
I know lots of people who have been doing it for years but most they have won is a tenner
Even if your post code comes up you only win a small share....I've no idea how many post codes are drawn each week....anybody know?

Time to up the low prize to £15, as it's £12.50 a ticket.

It’s fixed, they never pick the post codes around here for the big prizes.

Every day there are £1000 prizes to be won by ticket holders in 20 winning postcodes.
For the biggest prizes of £250k+ I think it is just one monthly draw. I believe on Saturdays there is a £1miilion draw to be shared in one postcode by the lucky ticket holders.

The street behind us won about £6k each just before I joined. I've never had more than a tenner but, the trouble is, you can never leave unless you move! Imagine leaving and then your postcode wins big.

I think it would be better if lotteries had a smaller jackpot but plenty more winners of larger amounts.
Rather than a £10 win, make it £500.

Do you reckon it's worth it though.??.or pay the extra for the National lottery. Seems to have a better chance to win. I'm not greedy ..a couple of grand would do me nicely

My Father in Law won a share of the big monthly prize recently and another family connection had previously won the same.
From thoss insights here's how I now understand that big draw works:
Using a BB postcode as example. The big monthly draw is made and let's say the winning postcode is BB11 8PC.
Everyone that plays in 'BB11 8' area win an equal share of something like 60% of the million pounds jackpot. All players in that area get a letter saying they won a share of the jackpot prize (amount not specified but guaranteed to be at least a grand). They then get everyone to attend a local event to be presented with their cheque. Everyone gets excited and attends a big photo call - I assume the really big jackpot winner is contacted in a different way.
Father in Law got about £9500 - when the other relatives won they had 2 entries (one each) and I believe they got presented with 2x cheques for around £6000 each.
Everyone that plays in BB11 8PC would win an equal share of the 40% of the million pounds payout for that draw - usually only a single winner or divided between 2 or 3 people given any given full postcode normally covers a single street at most. So they're grabbing the hundreds of thousands and flashing massive cheques around and sipping champagne.
North East (where both those winners were) postcodes seem to have come up quite a few times in the big draws since I've been aware of it. Never been tempted to start playing myself though.

It's not worth it. Fool's tax, just like the National Lottery.

. Well thanks for the info, good to know there are some decent amounts being paid out....but I'll pay lotto instead I think, purely because they have a price structure for each winning ticket. Manchester road Accy has a few hundred houses...so the payout wouldn't be that good...oh well
