Discussing it on 5Live now, suggestions are that he’s taken his own life.

Awful news, God bless him.

RIP Ricky. Thanks for the great nights.
I have a lot of health concerns for ballooners and Ricky was one but if the rumour above is true that is sad beyond belief.
Condolences to family and friends.

Sad news. I’ve never been a boxing fan but he was the only fighter I ever saw live at a bout at Manchester Arena.

Will be emotional at The Etihad later.

Agree with this, wholehearted fighter and, it seems, a very decent guy outside the ring.
RIP "Hitman".

Really sad news to wake up to this afternoon. 46 years old! Great fighter and was down to earth. I don’t know the circumstances around it but whatever they turn out to be; if you’re depressed then please please talk to someone.

Genuinely shocking news this , a great fighter and took 2 of the greatest fighters in history to beat him .Some great nights watching him . Seen him last few yrs at Xmas in Taylors Sports bar in Los Cristianos he had a chat with my lad who was totally made up. A rarity in boxing that he was a truly liked and very popular fighter .
RIP Hitman

A hero for the working class northerners. Seen him fight for a world title where he won the belt. Was a massive fan. Met him a few times and what a great guy. Felt numb on the turf today. RIP hitman x

Absolutely TT
Me and the wife always looked forward to watching his fights 20 odd year ago or so
Don't know how to post it but the Kostya Tzsyu fight will be on you tube no doubt
The look on his face when Hatton pummeled him in the 10th/11th round was iconic in my eyes
And then 25k Brits giving it to the bemused yanks in Vegas before the Mayweather fight was just gold..
