Thank you, Tony. Very hard to take for everybody. The players, manager and his staff will have been down but SP has a lot of positives to work on and get the lads ready for the next challenge.

My thoughts before the game was to hope we keep the scoreline respectable (bearing in mind Scott Parker's last little escapade against Liverpool).
A one nil defeat would have been a kind of moral victory, but now I feel so disappointed.
Onwards and upwards.

Great report. I was also distraught. But agree it was excellent defending throughout by a Burnley team, something that was very much absent the last time we had a go at this league. Play like that and we have every chance of staying in it.

I heard a couple of annoying accents talking about football earlier (Leeds fans - can't really get a more annoying accent other than maybe Wakefield). One of them said, "At least Burnley conceded a last minute penalty" with them both laughing. I nearly mentioned who I support but didn't bother. Typical Leeds fans though not knowing their football - still to find a Leeds fan who does.

As Chris Boden said on the pod, it seems a very harsh punishment having a free shot at goal from 12 yards for basically having the ball smashed at you from three yards and it hitting your elbow as you turn your back.

It is the rules, it was a penalty but the punishment doesn't seem to fit the crime. Don't get me wrong, I'd have been screaming for it the other way round!

Losing twice to late penalties, correct decisions but why do we feel so bad?

The frustrating thing about both penalties in the past two games, if it was us claiming for the penalties they would never be given.

Also a new rule for football, if a player dives for a penalty and is penalised, the next time that team get a genuine penalty it is not given as punishment for the previous dive.
