Why are we struggling to deal with set pieces at the start of the match?

Sunderland, Liverpool & now Forest where we've made schoolboy mistakes.
Once we get settled we seem organised but why are we struggling in the first five minutes or so?

Not sure it's just set pieces. We've looked poor overall at the start in every game so far.
Man U could have had 4 by half time.

Our mental preparedness needs looking into.

It wasn't just the set play, we were slow out of the blocks generally today and that's been true of 4 of our 5 games. In the first minute we just allowed them the ball and repeated far too deep, and then failed to deal with a pretty routine channel ball because we misjudged it. We then didn't defend the corner well but that was just the final act in a bad 100 seconds.
I don't know what the solution is but it needs sorting. We did very well after that but of we keep giving opponents a goal start it'll be a long season.

To be fair, there's not much that could be done to stop their deflected goal today. However, I thought our defending in the first half at OT was poor.

Leaving aside the fact we should have avoided the corner in the first place, I reckon a Dyche team would have more aggressively attacked the first cross and would have then been quicker to get more than one defender into position to block the shot. Esteve and Ekdal had good games but they were both slow out of the blocks.

Absolutely. We've given away soft corners in every game so far.
I was fuming when we conceded that one today, lazy, sloppy.
