Rare Staff Issues Club Polo

Post by bfc-njr-2017 » Wed Sep 24, 2025 8:10 pm

My son has picked up this very nice 90s staff issues club polo. Any clue on who the Initials might have been?

Adidas so therefore seasons 1996/97, 1997/98 or 1998/99.

Can’t think of anyone though with those initials.

Always find it odd to see a club badge on the right hand side, not on the left over the heart.

Think Ennesse 1987/8 did the same.

The 96/97 squad pic has some of the well known backroom staff wearing tops with initials placed there, whereas the 97/98 one (where the same badge was used) doesn't.

So it'd be someone in Heath's team rather than Waddle or Stan's.

The Adidas Burnley stuff is simply another level to anything else we've had.

I'd love the club to use that badge. Infinitely better than the rubbish it was replaced by.

I liked the designs that Mitre used just before adidas as well but since then I agree, nothing has come close.

Whereas I hated that badge as it was infinitely worse than the badge I grew up seeing! (which may have been fairly similar to the badge we use now!). My grandkids love the badge we use now, it's the only one they have seen us playing in.

See I thought the Adidas stuff was bobbins, it felt like knock off stuff at the time.

I look enviously at the clubs playing in long-sleeved Adidas kits. I miss being able to buy a long-sleeved Burnley shirt.

I much prefer the club badge we use now, it seems to tally with our upturn in quality.

I really hated the Adidas stuff. The quality was good but the kit and leisurewear designs were awful.

I’m with you It came from a factory in Stockport I think. Teamwear that Sunday League teams could buy and designs that were two/three years old. No official affiliation with Adidas whatsoever.
