For the good number of golf fans on this board, this week has finally arrived. To me, the bi-annual Ryder Cup is the most anticipated tournament in golf. On paper these two teams are so closely matched apart from Scottie Scheffler, who is head and shoulder above the rest. Obviously we need to get off to a fast start to quiet the incessant chants of USA,USA,USA………. It’s been some time since there’s been an away win for either team, could this be the year? 10 points in the first two days of four-balls and foursomes and hang on in Sundays singles would do nicely

Tough course but an excellent chance for Europe.

I really fancy Europe this time. Think we've got a stronger side, and most of our lads have had good seasons. Going to back Fleetwood or Hovland to be Europe top scorer and probably Cantlay for the Americans.

At Chester GC we're replicating the Ryder Cup experience with a "Ryder Friday" event. We have a loudspeaker on the 1st tee blaring out Springsteen and other rock anthems. It's great fun but there is much tutting from some of the more senior members

I absolutely love the Ryder Cup and going to attempt to not miss a minute but I have a feeling the American Fans are going to go to new levels of cringe and disrespect for this one

Beth Page historically a really tough course but i’m guessing they will cut a lot of the rough back to suit the Americans.

I fancy Europe too. They are underdogs and you can get nearly 2/1 on them. Personally think that’s big and overlooks that a number of our team are in good form and some of the yanks are undercooked as they have not played as many tournaments this last month or so.

5 hour time difference should suit as I’m playing golf tomorrow and going to watch us thrash City on Saturday !!

Only one captain as won hone and away in consecutive Ryder cups for Europe - Tony Jacklin. Let’s hope Luke becomes the second.

Oh and the crowd are definitely gonna be loud and obnoxious - hopefully we can silence them and make Scheffler start blubbing again !!

Very little Yankee chanting, we have really silenced the crowd. Of course they always come back in the afternoon in fourballs.

Disagree with this preferred lie rule but it benefits Europe as we find the fairways more often - otherwise why would the US team cut down the rough?

I hope you guys have a better watching experience than i have .......so many commercials that it's almost unwatchable.

Commercials are more frequent now that there's only one match going, I guess that makes sense.
