Opted for Coventry vs Birmingham instead. I was going to watch the Swansea game but Benson on the bench again.

How on earth is Collins not sent off there?

It’s no attempt to play the ball and clear goal scoring opportunity. Baffled with that.

And of course Bruno sticks it in the top bin against us, then that crap there.

Collins gives a penalty away but ref doesn’t send him off as he didn’t think he denied Utd a goal scoring opportunity even though he was nearly in the 6yds box ,not a Man U fan but what a load of ********.

They start games at Old Trafford really strong. Outplayed Arsenal and Chelsea for large parts. Then we end up bein crazily naive giving away the pen. Away they’ve been their usual crap though.

We should have beaten UTD.

Moreover, it was such an unfair reflection for them to get 3 points.

They'd be on their arse at the bottom of the league if they didn't have a bit of luck against Chelsea. But we know they'll never get releagated - we saw that in action when we played them!

I really think it’s neither here nor there whether so called relegation rivals win or lose. If we perform and get results we’ll be fine.
The other thing is the results will be what they’ll be, and whatever we wish or desire will not make blind bit of difference. For that reason I always cheer the underdogs.
So I’m happy Brentford won today.🙂

Sunderland must have some tough runs coming up, as they've not played a single 'top 6' team yet, either home or away. We've played 4 of them.

We can **** on Sunderland all we want but they are smashing it and taking their chances when they come. You’d swap positions with them in a heartbeat.

Sunderland had an unbelievable transfer window, despite many on here claiming they were ‘doing an Ipswich’, and look like a decent PL outfit - mind they’ve been given one of the ‘kindest’ opening set of fixtures I’ve seen for a newly promoted club, including playing Forest 3 days after their game in Seville.

Managed to get a point at SP something Liverpool couldn't do today Sunderland are no duck eggs. Out of 3 promoted you could argue we are the 1s that look like we haven't acclimitised. I don't think you can use the fixture list as an excuse because unexpected results crop up all the time for everybody we haven't had 1 yet but we will.

They were great, yes, but I’d rather have had their opening fixtures than our’s. I know we all have to play each other home and away, but momentum is vital. We managed to beat them.

That said, I can’t see Sunderland being anywhere near a relegation scrap.

Fair play to them, they recurited well, spent a lot and look good. But it's worth saying that they had unbelieveably easy schedule - average league position of clubs they played against is - 14 (ours is 7,6). They also got really lucky with some decisions, clear penalty not given for Palace in the last minute, today they scored from a free kick that should have not been given.

We have had by far the toughest opening fixtures of the promoted teams.
Hopefully Scott can keep the heads of the players up as other than today we have done very well. And let's face it, today was par for the course with our record v City away for the last 60+ years.

I can't believe somebody on here earlier said that the fixtures shouldn't matter. Of course it bloody matters. As you say, easily the toughest opening fixtures. Sunderland have not yet played any top sides.

In fact 4 points from the opening 6 games I think is what most level-headed fans would have gone for. 4 points from Sunderland/Forest and nothing from 4 of the 'big 6'. We're about where you'd expect us to be.

I think we would all have taken 4 points and 17th after those first 6 games at the start of the season.

Sunderland have surprised everyone and they are now pretty much 1/3 of the way to safety after just 6 games. But it’s a long season.

The games get kinder to us now but that brings a pressure to put more points on the board. We have played well in games & lost and I don’t see that as a good thing as in this league, when you don’t play well you also don’t win and we need 8/9 wins from the next 32 games.

All we can do is take the positives, we look much more competitive than last time, we just need to translate that into some more points.

Watching Spurs v Wolves. With Wolves prior to this on 0 points is emphasis of the standard of the PL. Can see them getting something from this game which would be a great result for them

We can say Spurs & Man United are really tough fixtures but at the same time we are considering the likes of Bournemouth & Brentford as relegation candidates who managed to win against these supposedly hard fixtures. How does that work?

And those 4 points could easily have been 6 if we’d have managed to hold on against United & Liverpool

And Sunderland missed a sitter too at the end. THey thoroughly deserved their win, and had we played like that and got that win at Forest we would be ecstatic tonight. Give credit where credit is due

I agree I think that Sunderland keeper is a gud un. Seems like there’s a lot of deflection going on on some of threads with we could have done this or that was unlucky. All the teams have some sort of hard luck stories going on with gilt edged chances & dodgy officiating & conceding late goals it’s not an unique affliction.
