As many know I live in Lincoln and this afternoon I received a parcel for my daughter from Delivery Driver.
He spotted I was wearing a Burnley Shirt and said “ Claret Fan , I lived in Nelson about 12 years ago and now live in Rotherham “
After a little chat he had moved over to join his family in Nelson about 12 years ago ( He looked about 30).
He was a Muslim and a very nice chap
A very small world- Burnley connections everywhere

You are not wrong about Burnley fans being everywhere. When I drove back from the 2008 play off final v the Blades I was staggered how many cars with claret and blue scarves were turning off the M40 to to go south , south west, west, north west etc. You wrongly assume everyone is destined to get back to the north west

Ive been up Snowdon twice and both times ive bumped into burnley fans. First time it was horrendous weather at the top and a chap spotted my burnley hat, we did the best to talk about Burnley.
Second time someone coming down as I was going up spotted my burnley shirt and chatted to me about the club.
When I went up Ben Nevis I stayed in fort william in an air bnb. The woman who let us in said she recognised that accent, her friend at work was from Burnley

When I worked and lived over in Yaaarkshire I would get the usual stick for being from Lancashire and being surrounded by Leeds and Huddersfield fans would get the stick about being a Burnley fan. I would say to them no matter where you go in the world you'll bump into a Burnley fan.
About 2 years later I was working in Bucharest and went to a bar to watch us play Newcastle away, the game when Schaar scored a worldie from 30 yards, and as I was sat at the table with a couple of friends a guy walks in with a claret and blue scarf on and saw me in my Burnley shirt and sat down, turns out he had lived in Romania for 25 years but originally was from Brunshaw.

I once saw a Greek man, wearing a Burnley home shirt, riding his beat up scooter up a winding road heading for the hilltop taverna where I sat. Yes I know him and yes I had given him the shirt. He is an olympiacos fan but the clarets are now his number 2 team. When we played olypiacos I was in Crete watching on TV with Greek commentary . After the game I promised him my Burnley shirt and he wore it a couple of days later when we met him at the taverna fantastico.

On the other hand I have been in a tourist spot in Greece for two months and yet still to see anyone wearing a Burnley shirt , I have seen 3 Derby shirts on different days which I found strange , as for Liverpool well close to everyday .

Maybe its just me, but seeing adults wandering around on holiday wearing a footy shirt is just weird, especially those who don't have the body for the shirt, if you know what I mean.
