Today's footy

The early kickoff at 5.45pm is Real Madrid away to Kairat Almaty (no, me neither).

The stand-out game I think is Galatasary vs Liverpool. Could be a hostile environment. Galatasary have played 7, won 7 this season, scoring 17 goals. Their last home defeat was August of last year.

Plenty of Championship games on too.

Apparently Kairat travelled 4,000 miles to play their first match (in Lisbon). Slightly shorter journey for Real. :)

Galatasary got pummelled 5-1 by Frankfurt last time, I think Liverpool will win comfortably. There are levels and it seems easier to win in turkey than back in the day.

Blackburn at home to Swansea City, I wonder what kind of reception Manuel Benson will get from the Dollopers' fans?

:D :D :D

Could be a bad move tactically by Blackburn to mention their game plan so early. If they win the toss they are going to attack the shallow end in the first half.

He doesn't look to be getting much of a chance at the moment.

I decided to leave and just read only as too far right and far left people on there who just want to shout politics .
Used to be about football but not anymore .

I was trying to go as far away from football as I could on there. Hence me mentioning Blackburn Rovers.

Am I correct in thinking that we could have drawn them instead of Aberdeen in the Europa League?

It would be a very cool away trip!

I forgot Luton were in League 1. Amazing. Non-league to the Premier League inside 10 years, then back-to-back relegations and they are mid-table, not looking like doing much.

They're not doing much so far tonight, losing 1-0 at Blackpool.

Wonder how much longer Will Still will last at Southampton.

His reputation seemed to have been built around something other than his actual achievements and it appears to be showing.

Barely touched him (accidentally) and you would have thought he had almost taken his head off. How do refs fall for this stuff?

Sometimes angles can make a difference, but surely VAR is now there, or is it just that the game is now becoming basketball, aka a non-contact sport?
