I lost all interest after reading that though he was born in Burnley 'he grew up supporting Newcastle.'

Crazy that we released him for being too short and now he's 6 foot 5!

He’s not got a statue in town, because Burnley council are a bunch of ne’er do wells.Funkydrummer wrote: ↑Wed Oct 01, 2025 3:25 pmCould be the reason he's not got a statue in town. Stick it outside that sh!t hole.
The lack of one is a constant reminder of their inadequacies, and their ineptitude.
I’m embarrassed for them…

I was interested up to that point

What an odd thing to say.
My lad was born in Manchester, but supports Burnley as they are my team. Funnily enough no one has ever dismissed him because he doesn't support United or City.
Re: Burnley lad playing in the Champions League tonight
I bet Sykes's dad doesn't support Newcastle though.
Anyway he's had a bit of a mare against his 'boyhood club.'
Have a good evening.

Aye torrid night for them it seems.
Can't be too many players who have gone on from Accrington Stanley to the Champions League

Re: Burnley lad playing in the Champions League tonight
Classic insular Burnley thread this. Nice story about a lad from Burnley who has done really well for himself and forged a good career but all the ubbers can argue about is whether him and Jimmy, who had nothing to do with the story at all, supported us when they were kids.
