Never been to the Hall itself but down in the area next week. We are members of Nat Trust so thought might have a look.

It's OK, certainly a nice looking building, its not as big as you imagine it will be, but it's worth a visit. (Just check its open though. It rarely is when I walk down,)

Towneley Hall has recently reopened after being closed for 3 years, but be aware, it's closed on Mondays & Tuesdays.

Went in a couple of weeks past. Definitely an asset to the town.

It was heritage week so they had a lot of staff on so learned quite a few facts too. The one that struck me the most was that when the council bought the Hall it was completely empty. Everything inside it has been bought by the council for the town - I just imagined most of it was originally part of the Hall.

Gawthorpe is National Trust so yes. Not sure about Towneley but I think so.

Gawthorpe is free to NT members, otherwise there an entry charge.
Towneley is not NT and there is a £5.50 entry fee but the ticket lasts for a year. Kids are free.

It's what I say when people ask about Burnley. Towneley Hall, Towneley Park and Turf Moor.

My new locally based charity Rainbow Collective will be running half term HAF style camps at both locations this October half term. Free for all with hot food. We also cater for complex SEND so we are fully inclusive. No one pays a penny! You can follow me on social media @scott23875 for more details about Gruesome Gawthorpe and Terrifying Townleys with a Grand Halloween spooktacular for the kids on the Friday day time. Wooooooo!

Eight pounds I think for Towneley, but it is a year long ticket that you can use as often as you like. Gawthorpe is National Trust, there is a fee if not a member. I’m in NT so don’t know what it is, but I do know they sometimes give out vouchers in local press for free entry during school holidays.

Towneley is definately £5.50 entry, which lasts for a year. Free for kids. I’m certain because my wife is a volunteer there.
