Tchouna

His movement in and around the box needs a lot of work. A quick burst to the back post when Foster drove down the left would have left him a tap in.
Also happened in the first half where he just stood still when the ball was switched to Walker.

He clearly has some good attributes but seems to struggle to get into matches. Obviously a young lad trying to learn a new league in a struggling team is going to be difficult, he needs a bit of patience and maybe some time coming off the bench rather than starting.

He'd be brill on the counter attack.

Thought the same. Needs some coaching. But doesn’t look threatening at all, despite having a nice physical profile.

Walker refuses to pass to him.
Lad looks lost and not sure what he brings

Needs a lot of work and a break from the team.

Not ready at all. Physique wise he’s fine but he doesn’t know what to do with the ball in dangerous areas. Saying that none of them did today.

I’d have Koleosho or Benson over him. With what we have Edward’s isn’t the answer either so best if a bad bunch would beJBL

It’s as if Walker knows he’s a bit naive , his positional sense at times is like a grassroots u11 game

He may be better playing as a number 9 especially has we seem to want to counter attack ,we could turn him into another Koleosho if we’re not careful.

The ideal for players like this (and we’ve signed a few in recent years) is that they can be slowly integrated to learn their trade and the level that we are playing at.
We’re not in the position to offer them that development time - we put them in and hope we might unearth a gem.

Didn't exactly pull up any trees at Lazio. If he was 1st team material then he'd still be there being so young. Needs coaching and time on the training field before being given a chance regularly at this level.

I’m a bit lost with what he offers to be honest. I’m certainly not writing him off - he’s only young and learning. But he offers nothing going forward (certainly doesn’t look like a natural right winger) and doesn’t offer great help defensively either.
I don’t think I’ve seen him beat a man yet. It took Odobert about 30 seconds of his debut when coming off the bench v Forest away in the cup to show he could beat a man….
Looking at his physical attributes, he might be better suited playing on his natural side as a strong running left sided player.

It’s almost as if signing players who have struggled to make an impact in inferior leagues is not the model to providing Premier League ready footballers.

I asked someone I know, a Lazio supporter, about him when we signed him.
"When he signed we were excited because he is explosive with a powerful shot. But he was a total flop. He's a French u21 international though so has potential."

He impressed when coming on late and many were pushing for him to start. JBL had the same problem wide right so something is wrong down that side.

To be fair to Loum he has hit the woodwork twice (most of any player in the PL per minute played) and had other dangerous shots narrowly missing too, so he has hardly been anonymous.
A young lad signed for a big price who in my mind should be a bench player at this moment while he gets up to speed with this league, I prefer him to Hannibal in that position where it needs an attacker, JBL isn’t dynamic but can do a role there, whilst Edwards is my preference given he is good on the break when running with the ball and panics defences.

Surely that is down to the manager not the owner if he doesn't want him here , i would have thought he would be useful to come of the bench at least late in games if required with is pace ....

We have a head coach rather than a manager

I do believe that Parker would have been asked if Koleosho was in his plans this season.
There's absolutely no chance Pace has said " look Scott, I don't care if you had big plans for Kolo this season and you think he will keep us up, he is being sent to Espanyol. Your the head coach not the manager!"

He's a young, raw talent. I've said previously he has a look of Semenyo at Bournemouth. His size and pace are made for the PL and I think he will develop well over time, which unfortunately we don't really have. In the perfect world we'd have a more experienced first choice right winger, with Loum getting regular appearances off the bench. As it stands though, as an attacking force, he's offered more than JBL or Hannibal, and we haven't seen Edwards or Tresor yet, so I guess he continues.

We'd be swapping a young player with pace, skill and potential but isn't providing what we need now for a young player with pace, skill and potential but isn't providing what we need now, if we'd kept Koleosho too...

Koleosho isn't making the starting 11 at Espanyol. He's got potential but not PL ready

I think it would be a good idea to get the spelling correct, on the thread header, as this one could linger. I'm sure there are people on here who could add the 'a'.
Just a matter of basic respect really.

The club put something out, possibly on X, where all the players pronounced their names. Shame some people can't be arsed to get them right, either spoken or written.

The thread was started mid game and had a spelling error that I wasn't able to correct. I hope he doesn't come on here and get as offended by it as you clearly have.

I'm not in the least offended, why should I be? I hadn't noticed that you were the OP.
But over all, people should be getting these names right, particularly pronunciation. Have you heard Phil Bird lately?

Would help if Foster could pass 5 yards, I don’t know why he didn’t lay it back for Tchouana instead of running into another blind alley.

He was waiting for the movement to the back post which would have left an absolute tap in. It never came
