Don't agree with SPs ananylsis I've got to be honest. I didn't think we looked a very good side at any point, I thought we looked reasonable on the ball at times, but didn't offer any threat at all and lacked ideas, then looked vulnerable at the back when Villa stepped it up.

I think we have to find a way to create more, as the very best teams in this division don't keep regular clean sheets, so we've no chance being so negative and expecting to get results.

Leeds is now a must get something, probably a win but I can see a very negative team selection on the way again..

That is why,He has been called Parker ball at his previous clubs,He will not field a team to Attack, far to coutious ,to win a game, home or away,He needs to think again, and go for it,win or lose,UTC.

Seemed to be a real lack of energy today even when we got it back to 2.1.

Not sure about his comments about the defensive line being young. It looks quite experienced to me

I kind of get what Parker is alluding to, but I did think we looked toothless today tbh. Thought we could have been a bit more direct with crosses in to the box first half but instead chose to recycle the ball before giving it away/losing it……

This. There were lots of opportunities, particularly from the right, to get a cross in, but we opted to play safe and pass back further and further until we inevitably we lost the ball. We’re not good enough to probe for that perfect opportunity. You’re in a crossing position, get it crossed, and have players trying to get into the box. The game’s more simple than they’d have you believe.

The times a good cross went into the box, there's nobody there as they're obsessed with maintaining their defensive positions.
A feeling of negativity just pervades the team and I don't know how we lose that.

Wouldn’t mind if we went 5 at the back and frustrated teams like we used to under dyche. The fact is we aren’t, we look wide open at times. The first goal we got carved open and the centre backs were all over the place. Looking back at the replays we’d have been better with a back 4 at that moment. Laurent playing a kind of hybrid role at the back is a little alarming considering he’s not (in my opinion) a top half championship player let alone premier league.

It the same old to me, we can’t cope with pace, didn’t Danny Murphy highlight the numbers we had at the back as we tried to stop their second goal, was it 5 v 2. We’re far too slow getting from back to front with no end product.

Agreed. It also doesn’t help that when the ball goes to a forward player either striker or wingers it seems to either come straight back to the defence to start again or we lose it and are instantly defending again.

Out of his depth at this level. There doesn't appear to be a team plan when we have the ball. We can get it close to or just beyond the halfway line and then there is nothing to offer. Five at the back left us as open yesterday as four at the back. It hasn't worked. Our play at best is dour and dull, much reflecting the persona of the manager. Odds on to go back down from day one; that doesn't bother me too much but what does is the relentless, turgid nature of our performances. One would suggest something has to change but reverting to 'type' is the hallmark of SP and I'm far too old now to 'hold my.breath' for any length of time.
