In previous years we have tracked a team throughout the FA Cup and we usually start with Padiham but cannot see a thread for it this year, with the 1st round draw on Monday I thought it would be good to get one going. So starting with Padiham we have had the following results:
Penistone Church 1-4 Padiham
Congleton Town 3-0 Padiham
Congleton Town 3-1 Vauxall Motors
Congleton Town 0-1 Chorley
South Shields 4-1 Chorley
South Shields 4-0 Spalding Unitd
So heading into the 1st round our team at the moment is South Shields.

I've been doing this without posting it and was quickly looking for the South Shields score yesterday. They won 4-0 with the last goal coming as early as the second minute of the second half.

My mate is from Shields, his dad is a STH there and I’ve been to watch them a few times.
It’s a good club and currently undefeated and top of the National League North
And as Clansman also points out, play in Claret & Blue

A very good few years for South Shields. Remember going to see them play at Colne not too long ago, and they could be in the Conf next season.

I was involved Matlock one Saturday afternoon when they were playing South Shileds and there was an impressive number of away fans knocking about for a non-league game.

The sand dancers have been steadily improving over a number of years, only a matter of time until they play a league derby against heed.

Although you are correct in that people from South Shields are called “sand dancers”, the teams nickname is The Mariners
They have a good crop of players up there, often getting those released from the Sunderland academy’s, partial down to the links with Julio Arca

Officially yes, but everyone up here calls them sand dancers. You also missed the opportunity to mention another Mackem legend, Kevin Philips, who managed them to promotion to the National League North.
It's not just Sunderland who they have an association with, a number of Newcastle Academy players have either been out on loan to, or signed for them too.
It's great to see them doing well, long may it continue.
