Soton had 38 attempts at our goal, we didnt even muster a shot on target (pen aside). We had around 20% of the ball, negative long ball defensive timewasting tactics, all we are doing is seemingly delaying the inevitable thrashing because we aren't willing to try and actually win a game.

Some managers are good at getting out of the Championship but useless at PL level. Ady Bothroyd and Paul Jewell both have promotions from the Championship on their CV.

The question now is, do we accept this inept negative crap or do we be proactive and selfish and give BFC the best chance possible at survival? Many believe this is Dyche's last season with us so why wait until we are relegated to move on.

That said, there was very little difference between that performance - or the one against Leicester, come to that - and the ones in 09/10 that Coyle got pelters for, bar a goalkeeper that can save us from a complete hiding.

To be fair to KRBFC, he isnt the only Burnley fan questioning Dyche's ability to manage in the PL. I am certainly not suggesting we sack him, but we were awful today, and have been awful away from home every time. I know plenty of fans who said before the season that his single minded approach would make it difficult for us, and away from home that is certainly proving the case. We haven't really looked even mildly threatening away from home, and as soon as we concede the result is never in doubt. Granted, the 3 away games have been tough on paper, and we might fare differently against the likes of Hull, Sunderland, Swansea etc, but we currently sit 1 point above relegation, with teams below us who will certainly improve (WHU, Stoke). If we continue to leak easy goals away from home with no attacking threat, and drop points at home, the questions will continue. We have a difficult bunch of games coming up. By December, we could be "settled" in the bottom 3. We should be cautious, not fickle, but that doesn't mean these questions are out of place.

Who would you like to see come in KBRFC? I think I've seen you mention the manager Watford got rid of, but is there anyone else?

I like the guy at Huddersfield from Dortmund. A foreign manager would also bring the added bonus of knowledge on potential foreign signings.

He isn't (at least as of yet) a Premier League quality manager. However, that doesn't mean we should want him to leave. Who else is going to come in and do a better job of promoting us to the Premier League twice? We won't have the finances that some managers NEED in order to be successful. Most of the big name managers wouldn't win a bean if they didn't have the millions upon millions to throw at players.

There is no guarantees in football, I posed the question "Do we be selfish and give BFC the best chance at survival?" Clearly I think our best chance is to replace Dyche.

I agree with the OP. Dyche has done a wonderful job, but Burnley need to look at stepping up to the next level. The team under Dyche isn't going to achieve that and I fear we will stagnate after relegation.

I don't know, Dyche is managing with his hands tied and imo still working miracles with a team devoid of any real premier league quality talent (barring Keane and Heaton)

If another manager came in and we had to replace the whole coaching staff AND change our style of football to how you want it, I think it will be far more detrimental to the club. We've played this way for four years and even though we lost today I still think the best chance we have of survival is for us to keep plugging away with Dycheball.

Unbelievable that this idiot creates another thread calling for Dyche to go. We have a great manager and yes we are struggling but what did you expect from this season.

Todays performance shows we still need to strengthen the team in the New Year. Teams that start sacking managers rarely succeed.

Sean will be hugely disappointed tonight but the team need to work harder. Gray will soon be back. I think his 4 game ban has cost the club a few points.

No way would I say get shut of Dyche. What I would question though is why he has not addressed our lack of quality and pace, he has had 2 years to do this.

It was plain to see our weakness last time we were in the Prem and he has done nothing to address this.

Dyche is not perfect and has a lots to learn,their is nothing wrong with people being criticle only if it is constructive.
