Like most SENSIBLE fans I really, rally rate him and he's been a great (bargain!) signing, but I'm starting to lose patience with his constant injury situation. Absolutely not his fault and I would never say or imply it is and I really feel for him, but at the same time we have to be pragmatic and say he's unavailable far too often and he can't therefore be regarded as a regular first choice (sadly).

Our medical team will have briefed Iceland's team but ultimately if they want to call him the we can't stand in the way.
He did play, but didn't complete 90 minutes. I think that we would have been perfectly justified in saying he waasnt fit.

The problem with our right side is that we have a poor full back in Lowton. Hendrick is strong can put a foot in and help out Lowton. JBG is lightweight and is only strength is set pieces, he does not offer enough

He did play against Everton, but didn't complete 90 minutes. I think that we would have been perfectly justified in saying he wasn't fully fit, and had a bit of a niggle.

I wonder whose decision it was?

Nothing to do with us allowing him to go - played last week for us, no new injury, we are obliged to release him for international duty. He misses more internationals than he plays these days.

His FA have the right to call him up and assess any injuries so he isn't able to tell them he isn't fit. And, in any case, he played virtually the whole game last week.

I know nations can call players and that clubs can't stand in their way, but it does seem a little unfair that the club are the ones who are paying the players huge amounts of money. The clubs medical / sports science team are more up to date with a players fitness, especially with the injuries JBG has had in the past 12 months.

Expand please. His crossing is sub-standard but defensively he’s fine for me.

I haven't seen what the injury was. He hasn't even made the bench tonight so I hope they are being extra cautious. It doesn't look good.

Any updates on Cork and Pieters? Touch and go I presume? I'm guessing Drinkwater is nowhere near yet.
