We know that there is footage and images circulating on social media of an arrest which we made nearby yesterday afternoon. We want to make it clear that this is unrelated to this incident and no arrests have currently been made in relation to the tragic shooting.

Would be happy to see the return of the death penalty for the culprit, instead of us taxpayers having to fund him to be in prison the rest of his life. Impossible to understand the mentality of people who commit crimes like this.

Apparently the family came from Lebanon and she was a second year Law student and I think the eldest child. I cannot think how her parents and siblings must be feeling right now. Absolutely awful and whether it was deliberate or she was killed by mistake does not help one iota. If the barsteward who did this is caught I trust we can lock him/her up and throw the key away.

My gut feeling too but we have made too many mistakes in the past IMO to justify the death penalty and there is no way it will be brought back as the European Court and Inhuman rights act will stop it even if our parliament amended the Law

The bastards will get there wrists slapped. Modern sentencing is outrageous and purely because the prison system is overwhelmed.
Just read a lorry driver on the East Lancs Rd. killed a man, last January, by driving through a red light whilst online shopping. 4 years. That is modern justice.

Totally agree.

There are some crimes so terrible that prison is not a suitable deterrent or punishment. This feels like one to me.

If its the same footage, doubts there's more than one at minute, the person is using a mobile to film cctv footage, he/she just moves and zooms in on the car. The cctv camera angle doesn't change.

Looks like the poor girl moves out the path from the two on-coming pedestrians or bike riders claptrappers_union to me

Definately looks premedatated as the car slows up then shoots

It’s mobile phone footage of filming the CCTV monitor I’ve seen..

I’ve since changed my mind about her approaching the car, I think she steps forwards the curb to cross the road. And the car happens to pull in at the same time. It’s difficult to tell as she’s just white blob in the distance in the footage.

Either way, someone was likley to have been killed because of these horrible people. Very sad.

Thought they were tyre dealers? Terrible tragedy for the girl and her family....very respected in the community what a shame. to leave a war torn region and get killed in a civilised ?? Part of the world is so sad.

Five charged with Aya Hachem murder.

Five people have been charged with the murder of a law student in a drive-by shooting in Blackburn.

Aya Hachem, 19, died when shots were fired from a passing car on Sunday.

Feroz Suleman, 39, Abubakir Satia, 31, Uthman Satia, 28, Judy Chapman, 26, and Kashif Manzoor, 24, appeared at Preston Magistrates' Court, sitting at Sessions House Crown Court.

They have also been charged with the attempted murder of their intended target Pashar Khan, the court heard.
