David Dunn is the new Barrow Manager

Post by Claretforever » Thu Jul 09, 2020 1:34 pm

I had really wanted Barrow to do well next season too. Shame.

I can see the logic with having access to Blackburn’s young/out of favour players perhaps?

As it happens there's a KFC and McDonalds literally over the road

You know what though, for me he will always be a Bast*rd but I don't dislike him like some, he just plays the villain and has loads of Burnley supporting mates and family.

Met him quite a few times, he is a decent lad who loves the crack and very down to earth.

His finest moment in their shirt

I don’t mind Dunn. Lived the dream against us.

He was more restrained than I would have been.

Nothing against Barrow and don’t hate Blackburn quite as much as some until I think of players like him. Hope he fails miserably.

He was very poor in charge of Oldham, not sure it's a good appointment at all.

A pragmatic rather than progressive appointment - the links with Clough and Hill seemed massively ambitious for a club of Barrow's (with all due respect) stature

I hope he does well for no other reason than I like Barrow

I wish him well, hope he does so well infact that in the future he gets the Rovers job, we then plaster them in a cup game and they get relegated with a 95th minute offside goal by someone in the last game of the season

Seems an odd appointment. Does he have much managerial experience? I’d also guess that he’s not a big enough name to attract much media attention.

Scuse my ignorance, but what happened to the Barrow manager who got them into the league?

Most managers only take a step backwards when they are forced to. Maybe he's a masochist.

It would to see Barrow back in the football league and Workington, for that matter.

I saw Reading v Barrow, many years ago. Barrow were on their last legs.

They had the most faded red shirts I have ever seen.

I don’t mind Dunn.

In some of the games he played against us you could tell he was the only person on the field who knew the magnitude of the the game for the fans.

The biggest compliment I can pay him is I was delighted when he decided to retire

I don't suppose that amidst all the euphoria in Bolton on 8th January 2010 when Mr Coyle was appointed manager, that they thought that just over a decade later, they'd be kicking off the 2020-21 season, in Tier 4, facing Barrow, Mansfield and Orient ..... ;)

I've never hated him. If I'd have ever played for Burnley and played well, scored goals and had won the majority of games against Blackburn like he has against us, i would have been an unbearable ****.

Never disliked the bloke. If most of us are honest about it, his presence in the derby matches gave the games a bit more edge. Good luck to him at Barrow, however I think he is destined to fail.

Nothing against him as a bloke, but I still hope they get beat every week.

He will end up doing hospitality tours of Ewood in 9/12 months time.

His dad, Ian,sure is a Claret, he even has a Burnley tattoo on his arm. When we played Birmingham in a pre-season friendly a few years ago, Ian (Hoddy), even joined in with the " who are ya"?? taunts when Dunn took a corner in front of the Jimmy Mac lower.
