Nope not necessarily - but that’s not really the debate.
The post I was replying to said that “player for player” City are better than Liverpool.
My view was that at least half of the Liverpool team last season and this have been better than the City player(s) in their equivalent position.

It’s hardly an extreme view to take to say Allison, TAA, Robertson, VDV, Mane and Salah have had a better couple of seasons than Ederson, Walker, Mendy, Otamendi, Aguero and Jesus.
Don’t dispute that. Both incredible teams. City have more incredible individuals. And THIS season haven’t been consistent enough whereas Liverpool up until that first defeat have been ruthless.

Since Atletico and Watford though the belief looks to have gone.

They definitely need to strengthen next year despite this seasons title.

FWIW I wouldn’t compare Aguero with Salah. Aguero is more similar to the role Firminho plays. And Aguero has been much better.

Sterling vs Salah or Mane a much tougher call. All three have been among the best in the world and I couldn’t call it between any of them. Even if pushed I couldn’t choose.

Similarly on the keepers.

Liverpool have the best defence for sure. City the best midfield.

Both brilliant sides and what tops it is consistency rather than talent.
