Would SD be happy with one or two disgruntled players on his hands if they were keen to move but their transfers were blocked? Hasn't the Gibson saga been an eye opener?warksclaret wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:00 pmI suspect SD and MG had a fall-out last week. It was rumored we were letting two of our stars go ( Tarks and I assume Dwight) and SD threatened to walk. At that point MG may have said that no one will leave but that means no one comes in. Another reason Wilson is not happening, and why Dwight today has been turned down.It might alsp suggest why SD has backed off somewhat lately and now in acceptance of the situation

White flag has well and truly been raised this year. I would be very interested to see the season ticket retention levels too should we drop, I think they'll be alarmingly low with the world as it is now..

Tbh, I think they’d drop anyway post covid - fans out of the habit of going, many will have lost their jobs, etc - but they certainly will if we don’t invest in the squad. Why should the fans keep shelling out if the club are showing no ambition?Andreshotboots wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:27 pmWhite flag has well and truly been raised this year. Conversely, if we signed one or two exciting prospects you could imagine them holding a lot better than they otherwise would.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
bit of a dilemma really, we clearly have a great manager in sean dyche but he took the job willingly having been sacked.
Albeit that was 8 years ago and an awful lot has happened since.
He must have had discussions back then about finances, but we were promoted and that changed things drastically.
whatever criticisms are been levelled at the club now, have cropped up previously around transfer deadlines. surely it cant surprise any of us .
despite it all we managed respectable very decent high finishing positions.
bit late in the day for sharpening the knives don't you think?

At least with no new player contracts to sort out, Mike can dedicate his time to sorting out season ticket refunds.

You forgot James McCLean and Tom Ince, the more left footed wingers the better.ClaretEngineer wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:16 pmLate £9M bid for Ryan Shawcross being readied on parchment as we speak.
I think we have almost tapped the Stoke source dry, but with eight central defenders on their books I wouldn't rule out some interest from us on that front next week
Soutar after his successful loan to Fleetwood maybe ( okay, but not a first team player, no better than Dunne and right sided ).
Tom Edwards for 1 million or less might be somebody that we could look at ( an addition to the development squad and possibly as a temporary fill in for Lowton, depending on the status of his injury ). He doesn't seem to have any future at Stoke, which could be down to a refusal to sign a new contract. Not a bad player and only 21.
We've ticked the goal keeper signing box, but it wouldn't be a regular window if we didn't sign at least one player from Stoke.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We’ll go with what we have ( and Stephens). 2/10 think we needed a 7 or 8 out of 10 this time after a few poor ones. With an ageing squad and contracts coming to an end it’s not a rebuilding job that Garlick could cope with but he’ll be gone by then no doubt and counting his cash somewhere.

Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
Genuine question. Let's say... and I know this a big ask, but let's say JBG now goes the season without injury. Mee comes back so we have JT and Mee back where they belong.
Could we survive without any new players?
It would be:
Pope
Bardsley/Lowton Tarks Mee Taylor
JBG Brownhill Westwood McNeil
Wood Barnes
The likes of Jay, Pieters, Cork, Vydra, Stephens fills the bench.

This is a loan with an option to buy, the size of which is undisclosed but is not believed to be above the €3m mark.

I did actually consider adding Tom Ince and James McLean...but thought better as one is an ex-B*stard and the other causes some controversy about this time of year. Re: BFC TRANSFER NEWS SUMMER 2020(MUST CONTAIN LINK)
We possibly could, but we need Dwight to recapture his form, I would certainly be more confident in that back 5 keeping a few clean sheets, and if we can start doing that again, we've a much greater chance of digging a few 1-0 wins out, and although it might not be pretty it could just be enough to ensure another year at this level.FactualFrank wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 2:56 pmGenuine question. We'd also need to be incredibly lucky regarding injuries, suspensions aren't as much of an issue, we rarely get them.
Our defence at full strength, and the 4 forwards are perfectly adequate for this league, ad they've proven time and again, however our lack of creativity in the midfield is a concern, if we could get Dwight on one side, and Guddy on the other at their best, we suddenly look a much tougher proposition for the opposition.

I watched quite a lot of Angers last season, while I was following Angelo Fulgini, but I never saw anything of this lad.Claretnick wrote: ↑Mon Oct 05, 2020 3:05 pmAnthony Gomez Mancini

To summarise we basically sat around, allowing Angers time to sell on Santamaria and Rayan Ait Mouri. That shored up their cash reserves and gave them the financial freedom to give a new contract to Fulgini.
And now we loan an attacking midfielder off them, who they don't feel is good enough to fill the current gap in their first team or play for them in the future, with a £2-3m buy option attached to him.
I hope that he is a hidden gem, we could have got a quality Championship player in this window for that price. So much for Garlick not wanting to open our cheque book.
