You wanting them to be distracted by the cup, so it negatively affects their league form?

i do too Tony...we need to get the match time for the big one on Tuesday
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
No injuries please. Hope MKD try to play a bit of football and their not kickers, like the mob from Lincoln were !
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
With Man utd on Tuesday, I would select the 3 returning from injury, leave out Pope Lowton Tarky Mee and Brownhill

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
I definitely wouldn't risk any of the holy trinity, and Brownhill will benefit from a short break, agree the returning players need minutes so Cork, JBG & Vydra all start for me.
I wouldn't take a chance on Charlie, Dwight or Jay Rod, all 3 are too important for our PL campaign to gamble with.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Assuming Sean is expecting us to bring in a couple of decent players during this window, I don't think he'll take any chances today, so I'm expecting quite a strong team. It's our first chance of a decent cup run for a while, so I hope we don't throw it away.
I think that there is a good chance that both Cork and Gudders will start, and probably Vydra up front. Pope will probably be rested as well but the rest will be much the same as usual hopefully.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Charlie, I doubt will be fit enough. Jay, on the other hand, is currently behind Wood and Barnes so less of a risk. If McNeil is fit, he'll need some minutes prior to Tuesday.

Dwight's injury is lasting longer than I thought. Unless injured includes Covid positive.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Jan 09, 2021 12:41 pmCharlie, Dwight & Jay Rod are all confirmed as being out injured.
Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Looking forward to a bit of football today. Would think BPF, Long, Dunne, Cork, Stephens, Vydra, JBG will be given a run out today if Covid free! Interested to see how we line up.

I think some of those players will but I do expect us to go quite strong with the line up.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
from BBC:
Burnley midfielder Jack Cork could make his first appearance of the season in Saturday's FA Cup tie against MK Dons.
He has recovered from an ankle injury, while winger Johann Berg Gudmundsson and forward Matej Vydra are fit again and are in contention to play.
MK Dons have six players missing including forwards Kieran Agard and Jay Bird and midfielder David Kasumu.
Matthew Sorinola and Stephen Walker, both sidelined with illnesses, and George Williams all return.
Match stats
Burnley have won all four of their meetings with MK Dons in all competitions, scoring 11 goals and conceding three. This is the first game between the sides since a 5-0 away win for the Clarets in the Championship in January 2016.
MK Dons have lost three of their five FA Cup matches against Premier League opponents (W1 D1), including a 1-2 third round loss against Burnley in 2010.
Burnley have won nine of their last 11 FA Cup matches against sides from a lower division, losing against Reading in January 2010 and Lincoln in February 2017 in this run.
MK Dons are looking to reach the FA Cup fourth round for just the fourth time in their short history, last doing so in the 2017-18 campaign.

Re: Clarets v MKD Match thread
Chorley have beaten Derby 2-0.
Admittedly an under strength Derby because of Covid, but even so. Wow, Chorley in the 4th round.
