predictions for the decade ahead.
Ok over new year I got thinking about events in the last decade and decided to make some predictions on possible (and more than probable) events for the coming decade. Feel free to add to it. I've tried to keep them realistic.
1. Might be an obvious one but we will see a new monarch.
2. The E.U will collapse.
3. There will be another world war
4. The decline of Facebook.
5. Everything will become on demand/streamed with TV channels becoming obsolete.

We’re already in a world war - WWIII - the (dis)information war. Fake news created to justify attacks and violence.
I think gandhisflipflop has it fairly close to be honest... missing one thing.
The collapse of the top clubs in the premier league as a result of the investigation into financial corruption means that Burnley, a club not affected by the fallout, are crowned champions of England 3 times in a row along with 2 FA Cup victories.

Re: predictions for the decade ahead.
Well apparently there’s a bloody big asteroid that’s gonna pass us by in 10 years that will be so close on its fly by that it will either provide some nice entertainment or, if it’s course is deflected only slightly, it will pretty much put an end to any chance of Burnley being PL champions. According to some sources it doesn’t even need a deflection.
So folks make the most of the time you have left and let’s all try to get on...it would be rather nice.
In case anyone is wondering how close it’s said to be inside the orbit of the moon which in astronomical terms isn’t even a gnats todger.

6 More cities in the world will ban any fossil fuel vehicle from entering, except China and India
7 Trump will be reelected
8 The family will have to live off retirement income, scary thought

Re: predictions for the decade ahead.
A small percentage of Burnley fans using high speed message boards continue to believe they are the chosen ones and their word is the word of Burnley fans worldwide.
Meanwhile Burnley Football Club continue to ply their trade in the top 2 tiers of English football, defying the odds.
With all of their traditional near neighbours being wound up by HMRC over the decade, it has left them as the sole representative in the North West outside of Manchester and Liverpool.
The next decade will see if they need to add to the 50,000 capacity Turf Moor to accommodate the influx of fans from Bolton, Wigan, Preston, Bury and Blackpool.

I am informed by the office geeks, there isn’t enough Cobalt in the world to provide batteries for the total UK requirements let alone the worlds.
Some new tech needed if that’s the case.

Re: predictions for the decade ahead.
If your first one comes true we will all die from starvation because of over population. Your third one is a given because it feels like it always has been.
A man on Mars would be nice if they can find anyone who wants to live in a tin can for a couple of years. Besides if your first one comes true we will need Mars for the extra space. Then the Americans and Russians will start a war over who Mars belongs to and while they are fighting the Israelies will steal it from under them and set up settlements. Then the Palestinians will claim it's theirs by right. The Muslims will claim it for Allah and start bombing people because the infidel has stolen it. The far right Christian movement will declare it part of heaven so therefore it must belong to them and the Buddhists will say...who cares, it's all imaginary anyway.
Looked at this way it makes you realise that, no matter where in the universe we are the human race will never bloody agree on anything.
Best leave Mars alone I think.

1. Electric vehicles sales will increase by at least 10% a year.
2. Government will suddenly realise that they do not have the power generation capacity for all these electric cars and whilst there will be advances in renewable energy, they will be forced to go back to nuclear power.
3. M&S & Sainsbury's will merge to stay in business.
4. Scotland will gain independence from the rest of the UK and will join the E.U.
5. The Euro will disappear as a currency.
6. Climate change will cause famines in Africa and South Africa will suffer major food shortages for the 1st time in its' history.
7. Scotland will require IMF support to balance their widening trade imbalance.
8. Germany will leave the E.U.

Re: predictions for the decade ahead.
We really need to look at birth number control and euthanasia. There will be an additional 2billion people by the end of this century (caused by living longer).
We already have many old people (usually with serious illnesses) begging for the right to die when they chose. I suspect the laws will change.
Personally, I don’t want to end up living in a nursing home, living a life that resembles Groundhog Day.

Re: predictions for the decade ahead.
Another very large issue, is this .
A friend of mine just bought an electric car, they came to install the 7.5 Kw charger you need and did a survey of his estate, built 20 years ago here in Burnley. They told him it was ok for him to have a charger installed but the grid could only take possibly 1 more on his estate. The whole national grid needs to be replaced for us to have more electric cars.
Norway who have taken them up in large numbers, electric sales beat internal combustion engine sale last year. They have queues waiting for chargers to become available.
