The football was that bad I would have been happy for WBA to go home with all 3 pts.
Not sure how Pace expects any neutral to get behind us when we stink out the Prem as badly as that.

Not sure how anyone expects Pace to have brought about these changes in a fifty one days.

West Brom were , undoubtedly, the better team.
It's as simple as that.

We’ll end up least favourite underdog with more dross like today.
Still, nothing a quality quarterback in the summer can’t sort.

I'm sure there's thousands of people across the globe who are rushing out to buy Burnley shirts after watching that.

Re: favourite underdog
I thought they deserved to win. The fact they didn't shows more how poor they are than we were good at stopping them.
Whilst I won't be happy with us losing I would have accepted that. And the point is fair - if we want to improve our global brand we need to start improving against teams like this.
That's two iffy performances now although I thought we deserved more against Fulham (who I thought were poorer than West Brom too).
Ultimately this is our lack of investment for 18 months catching up. Thanks Mike

Exactly, not sure what people expect, he’s shown total commitment to the cause by moving to the area (although now in New York in the middle of a pandemic and a ban on international travel)

sometimes the bigger picture is more important - this doesn't deserve to be swept under the carpet- it was horrific. Sometimes I wish for the days of Stan when you know the players would be back out training tomorrow. Instead they will all get a nice break on their nice salaries.ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:18 pmKept a clean sheet so we deserved a point - and whatever we deserved, I'm a Burnley fan and very definitely would not have been happy to see West Brom win.

Like the fact you ignore the part where I've said many times that he needs a run of 6 or 7 games. That means back to back if you didn't know and not the odd game here and there

We do what we do on our small budget and if that means playing what some perceive as a negative style then so be it. Today was a one off even by our standards and I bet Dyche is fuming privately

Re: favourite underdog
Jays got a goal And 2 assists in the last 3 games..... I was hoping he would continue his good run of contributions. As far as I can remember nobody was saying Jay must start because he’s guaranteed to deliver goals.

Pleased it made you laugh. You are clearly happy therefore with us being inferior to one of the poorest Prem teams there has been, at home and against ten of them, your prerogative CT...ClaretTony wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:24 pmI just laughed at that - that's overreaction taken to a new level.
I'd like to see us move forward in the Prem, not be a laughing stock. I've already had four or five people contact with me with no particular interest in Burnley asking me what on earth that was all about.

Re: favourite underdog
Don't put words into my mouth - you were the one who said you would be happy had they won, not me. Of course I wasn't happy with the performance and was relieved to get a point in the end, I very definitely would not have been happy had they won as you say you would have been. But to start calling us a laughing stock and to start telling us you have people contacting you, that is just pathetic, absolutely pathetic.Papabendi wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:30 pmPleased it made you laugh. It's very relevant CT. We have a business model based on being everyone's favourite underdog now. Just telling you what the neutrals are saying.

Re: favourite underdog
Bizarre that any Burnley fan would want us to lose, and there was a few posting exactly the same on the match day thread, weird even by the standards of this forum, and who cares what the neutrals think, we do whatever we need to do to stay in this league, and sometimes it won't be pretty, but I'm sure many clubs would willingly swap places with us right now, and many of them will be in the Championship or below, and be playing nice football, but not going anywhere fast.
Meanwhile we're heading towards a 6th straight season at the top table, and yet that's still not enough for some Clarets, methinks expectations have risen to unsustainable levels following our recent record of success, and a reality check is due for some who're getting ideas above their station, do people really expect us to play like Man City every week, if we tried that we'd quickly find ourselves plying our trade in the Championship the following season, and whatever we feel about it it's a results business at the end of the day, and therefore SD will set his stall out in the manner he thinks will achieve the best results, regardless of style or what the critics may think, and by and large his methods work, hence why he persists with this way of working.

I’d have loved us to score in the 93rd minute and take all 3 points
In fact lol be dancing about now
Re: favourite underdog
Alan Paces first priority was ''To help the manager in the January transfer window'' and apparently ''Dyche will never be frustrated in the market''
Now the window has shut, Pace's tune has firmly changed, with each interview it's more about not spending, his latest quote being ''spending on players who can get injured and cost the club money''

Re: favourite underdog
We all know having watched the game that we were awful and that's putting it midly. I still don't know how we didn't get a penalty for handball by Bartley?
Re: favourite underdog
A one off? We are awful most weeks, how many goals have we scored this season? How many shots on target? our top scorer has less goals this season than Kurt Zouma and the same number of goals as Lewis Dunk, Jan Vestegaard and Michael Keane. We are sh!te and lucky this league is dreadful this year.Top Claret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:25 pmWe do what we do on our small budget and if that means playing what some perceive as a negative style then so be it. And I also remember saying Vydra needs a run of 6 or 7 games for these guaranteed goals so until then your argument is null and void.dandeclaret wrote: ↑Sat Feb 20, 2021 5:25 pmJays got a goal And 2 assists in the last 3 games..... A run of games is back to back if you didn't know but as long as you can get your Vydra dig in then that's all that matters to you

Have a quick look at the goals for column. Then, try to convince yourself that we can continue to maintain our presence in the premier league much longer. Another season, then it’s time up I reckon. It’s been a fun whilst it has lasted.
Re: favourite underdog
It hit his body first and bounced onto his hand, no penalty since the change in refereeing from early in the season.

Because they want a club like ours out of it and it's hardly surprising given the lack of entertainment for the neutral.
