City are imploding.
Re: Todays other footy 6/3

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Shaw booked for blocking Mahrez. I hate that decision.
He’s a yard in front of him, Mahrez goes push and run and Shaw never moves his feet. That is Mahrez fault not Shaw’s. If he’d moved to the side to block him fair enough but you have to be allowed to stand still.

Big game next week. If we can scratch a win at Everton and Fulham have Man City that’ll open it back up to 7 points. Potential momentum-breaker for Fulham?

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Convincing win for Spurs finished 4-1, braces for Bale and Kane, I hope this puts our 4-0 defeat at Spurs last week into perspective.
Spurs now on the verge of the top 4. and that result sends Liverpool down into 8th, 8th for heaven's sake, how the mighty have fallen.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
City will beat Fulham, when did they last lose 2 on the bounce, it can't happen that often.
TBH I don't think Fulham is the team we need to finish above, I'd say it's Newcastle that look in the most danger.
Divided dressing room, managerial unrest, lengthy injury list, all those factors point to a team heading for the trap door. Their form has been shocking this calendar year, and there's no evident signs of it improving anytime soon.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
It's a fair point and we have created more chances in the last few games without scoring them. I accept that.
My frustration is more our decision making in the final third, given the relegation situation we're in. Without wanting to be pedantic, there's been several occasions recently where we've been in good positions to attack the box but have run the ball away from goal, or in some cases been in the box and passed (sloppy) balls back out again, or taken wild shots from outside the area with other options on. Only Vydra and McNeil have really looked like they want to take charge on the ball over the last few weeks.
One benefit of lockdown is I've watched other games (vs best bits highlights) and see other clubs making the same poor judgements. Liverpool were awful last night - I lost count of how many times their crosses didn't beat the first man or they tried to play it through congested central areas - so it proves it happens to the best, but I am worried we seem to have a general lack of urgency when in good attacking areas.

Jinxed us now Tiger!! Do hope that City quickly get back to their outstanding best against Fulham. As you say, we need that momentum to ebb away a bit.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 10:46 amCity will beat Fulham, when did they last lose 2 on the bounce, it can't happen that often.

I agree re: Newcastle. My big fear is that Ashley sacks Bruce and they benefit from that "new manager" bounce until the end of the season.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Comfortable win for Everton, Tuchel has got them motoring now, and they are looking good bets for a top 4 place, Everton were poor so let's hope that continues at the weekend, Pickford at fault again?
West Ham-Leeds next, come on the Hammers, we can still finish above Leeds with a strong end to the season.

Bright start by Leeds with a couple of goals correctly disallowed in first 10 minutes

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Leeds all over the place again, and that keeper is definitely dodgy under the high ball, that's an area we can target when Leeds come calling soon.
West Ham just keep rolling on don't they. Amazing the difference a year can make.

Decent match, this.
It pains me to say it, but Leeds are a good watch.

Bamford misses a sitter sums up Leeds tonight. and for all their possession they've only managed 2 efforts on target.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Would be amazing to see the Hammers qualify for the Champions League next season.
I dont know if its the contribution they made to England winning the World Cup or the atmosphere the fans generated in the chicken run at the old ground but there's just something special and romantic about that club
If ever a club personified the English game its West Ham and I really hope they make the top 4

Dawson having a blinder tonight, and he's made a huge difference to West Ham's defence this season, and it's that stability at the back which has allowed their creative players to also flourish.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Exactly they've dominated the ball, but done very little with it, indeed the Hammers have looked more dangerous with what little possession they've had. And for all the stats discussed there's only one stat that counts and that's the final score.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 9:48 pm64% statistically means very little if no reply to West Ham’s 2 goals, you could have 90% goals win games.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
That’s exactly why it’s wise to not pay any attention to the stats, say for example Leeds did batter West Ham statistically does anybody think the victory won’t taste any sweeter for David moyes knowing that statistically his team was overwhelmed but still managed to win.

I don't have the stats to hand, but I get the impression most teams prefer not having the ball and playing on the counter.Jakubclaret wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 9:58 pmThat’s exactly why it’s wise to not pay any attention to the stats, say for example Leeds did batter West Ham statistically does anybody think the victory won’t taste any sweeter for David moyes knowing that statistically his team was overwhelmed but still managed to win.
We do it often, and of course Leicester mastered the art when they won the league.
Brighton are a prime example, they've passed teams to death in their last 3 games, yet have zero points to show for it.

I know if you take a look on NSC I think a poll exists amongst them some wanting potter out & some wanting potter to stay, too much emphasis is going on the stats but producing no points in return.tiger76 wrote: ↑Mon Mar 08, 2021 10:02 pmI don't have the stats to hand, but I get the impression most teams prefer not having the ball and playing on the counter.

Re: Todays other footy 6/3
Brighton are the best ever team to lose 3 consecutive games in top flight history ever, that’s in the total history of world football top flight teams losing 3 games in a row ever ever ever. They are just the best, brilliant to watch, play the game how it should be played, shoot on sight, I just think they are great. Brighton everyone’s favourite losing eye candy.
